can they work? Have a story to tell?

I've seen it work for people who connect on an intellectual level, like so many of us do in this forum. They're just not sexual relationships, that's all.

A physical relationship? No, not likely. Can a plant grow without water? A cactus, maybe, if that's what you want to be.

Absence does make the heart grow fonder when you're thinking about "what if." The fact that the person isn't there eliminates some of the negatives of getting to know someone, but if you're aim is to really get to know them, you will be getting to know an entirely different person.

If, and when you connect physically, you have to start all over again. So, why torture yourself? Keep a good friendship on the back burner, a good fantasy, while you live in the real world. Then you have something to build on if your worlds ever collide again.

I had a boyfriend who lives in Paris. We met last summer.
He promised he would write, email, call, the whole shabang.

He tried calling once, but got confused and basically gave up.
We don't talk anymore.
So my personal view on long distance relationships is no.
It's just too far away. Relationships are based on being with each other, sharing moments, kissing/hugging.
You can't do anything like that over the Internet or through a letter.

But hey, I'm not completely closed to the idea. I guess it can work somewhat, if you two truly are in love and work for it.

(But most likely no.)

I tried a long distance relationship once. I am in California, him in Washington. It lasted 8 and a half months. Long Distance Reltionships rarely work out. Sorry, but thats the truth.

No story but they won't work unless one is planning to move to the other Country. How could it work, you can't go anywhere together, you can't kiss, hug, make love, do anything? All you have is chats and phone calls, that is not a relationship.

i ought to tell him about the topics that i'd have with the lengthy distance courting because the idea of any realtionship is honesty. He can likely help you out with the region. best of success

They can work, depending on the people. If you are really close (heart-wise) then it should work out just as well as if you lived next door to each other!!! Hope I helped.

Yeah. Why not, just have open communication. And the most important is to have "trust" with one another.
