Ok, so I'm planning on getting a tattoo as a reward for myself sometime in the near future. It would be fairly small, text only, on my back just below my neck.
I want to get something relating to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, since it is basically my bible. It has a lot of spiritual importance to me.
Should I get...
The word "Breathe"
The line "Long you live and high you fly"
The line "The sun is eclipsed by the moon"
Or something else I haven't thought of? There is just so much on the album that has meaning to me, it's hard to just pick a few words!
Any thoughts? :)

vicsikix, what Money is warning against, in an ironic way, does have meaning to me. It's very sarcastic. :)

weemaryanne, yes it can. Lots of things that cause pain are called spiritual. Like childbirth. Or sex.

mainworry, you can't tell me what is or is not spiritual to me. My spirituality is my own.

In my opinion, you shouldn't get a tattoo at all :(
I'm 48, I know lots of men and women who have them, and almost all regret it.
blessings :)

I would choose "breathe...". But that's just my own personal fav of all interpretations of the many glorious wisdoms PF gave the world. ;) Your choice will still be yours. ;) Although, I'd have the thing branded below the neck on the front, not the back. If you already have tats, this won't matter, but if this is your first one, you need to get it in a place you'll be able to see it for the rest of your life. ;)
Never, never, NEVER get the first tat someplace you'll never, never, EVER be able to see, lol!

I personally like "I'll see you on the dark side of the moon." That line has always appealed to me. I'm also quite fond of "Wish you were here."
I'd say go with the one that means the most for you.

Actually myself, I would get "Wish you were here" as it is my favorite song (yes I'm the total pink floyd nut who used to run around here with the PF avatars) and it would remind me of my best friend who died of leukemia 20 years ago.
Of your choices though.. I like Long You Live and High You Fly.

I have 18 tattoos so I know how you feel...I read your list.. I understand how you feel about things with meaning..
Breathe...jumped out..that is the right one for you! That can basically wrap everything you may feel into one word. Have fun! And don't forget to breath!

You go, GW! I like the "Long you live. . ." one.
I want to get a very small tattoo for my birthday next month. . .my 54th birthday, to be exact. I've wanted a tiny tattoo on my wrist or neck for years now, and I'm certainly not getting any younger.

"Breathe" has a deep spiritual meaning. You might want to think about your chakras and put text in each place.

Just make sure they use surgical gloves, autoclave sterilization and new needles, and you watch them take the needles and the gun out of sealed bags.
