Open up your Microsoft office -> Help -> About and write down the serial number (also called product ID

You can either 1) install from the CD (if you have it) and use the same serial number or 2) download the office 2003 trial from www.microsoft.com/office and you use the serial number you wrote down.

Technically you would be in breach of the license agreement as it is only for one computer. You may run into problems when it comes to patching the product.

Another option is to use Open Office from openoffice.org. It really is a great program and I have been using it for years on Windows 2000 and XP, and Redhat Linux and Solaris. While it is not as verbose and flexible as Microsoft, it is still free.

Have you tried to install it and register it with your same personal info? Sometimes that will work, if not then maybe you can call Microsoft and they will have pitty on you. Never know, give it a shot. By the way, no pun intended.

The way I see it, is if you buy software you should be able to install it on more than one of your own computers.

If it's a legal copy, your license agreement allows you to install it on up to 3 computers.

If not legal, buy it!!!
