I love your question--it's very thoughtful n sincere...this urge to find the truth, to want to understand is a good thing.....i understand that one!
I would say if u have to choose between religion or no religion, then choose none....choose to understand your mind through some kind of meditation....more important than asking which religion to choose, openly ask yourself what are u hoping to find by having a religion? What will it give you? What are you really looking for?
If u choose a religion that's fine too,but choosing a religion shouldn't end the search---if you choose a religion make sure it doesn't make you stop growing and searching....keeping an open mind...a true religion should point you in the right direction(inwards)...it should encourage the qualities of wonder and self-awareness and acceptance...no set dogma or rules...religion is the boat used to get across the river....use the boat but when u get to the other side, put the boat down.....
Religion won't solve your problems or make u any less confused(it shouldn't anyway)...not knowing is a sign of wisdom...accept confusion totally---it's good to doubt....with this mind-set breakthroughs n insights can develop....
Best of luck to you....

Here's the way I look at it: Nobody can be 100% sure that they're right or wrong about God or the lack thereof, but are you willing to take the chance. If you don't believe in a higher power during your lifetime and there is one, the worst that could happen is the whole eternal damnation thing. If you believe in a higher power and try to live your life rightly, and there isn't one, the worst that can happen is that you lived a better life. Doesn't seem like much of a choice, really.
If you're trying to choose a religion, of course I'm going to say follow your gut. The closest thing I've ever found to the proof you're looking for was the behavior of the apostles after Jesus was crucified. At first they were scared to death. They were hiding out watching their own butts. They had been so scared during the passion that they had denied even knowing Jesus to save themselves. Then afterward Jesus died, they saw something--nobody knows exactly what--that changed everything. All of a sudden their lives didn't matter. They all believed so completely that they were willing to die for their faith. They saw something that made them believe. That's what I keep coming back to when I struggle with religion.
More power to you. You're walking a hard path right now. Keep looking for truth and you'll find it!

Everyone will want you to belive what they belive. I mean Id want you to choose to be a Christian instead of a Morman or Muslim, cause I belive I am right, like they believe they are right. I believe that me being a Lutheran Christian, is right. I believe that my beliefs of the Bible and Christs death and ressurection are right too. Everyone will tell you that their religion is better. I believe that it is better to have at least some kind of religion than no religion. You cant alwayss tell if youre being lied to though. I think that the Holy Spirit is getting to you and that is why you cant stop thinking about this. There are many different ways to choose. I think you should pick the one that sounds best to you and has good reasoning and logic to hewlo guide yoru choice. Id love it if your chose Christianity cause I believe that if you dont believe that Christ died, was burried, rose again, and will come again that you will burn in hell.
Hope this helps and I hope that you choose the right choice!!

Unfortunately what makes it difficult is what exactly is the truth? Many different people will tell you many different things. This is why you need to dig deep down into yourself and your mind and heart and make the decision that seems the most logical to you. I personally feel that picking something just for the sake of having something is the worst thing anybody can possibly do as it will lead them to feeling miserable. The best thing that I can tell you is if you feel that it's very important to you to find what you're looking for to simply keep on looking. Who knows maybe you will find something that makes sense to you. Maybe you will find that you are better off without any religion at all. Keep studying different religions until you can make up your mind. It's better to do a thorough search and be happy with the choice you make then to just quit without even trying to find out for yourself. I hope this helps you out any at all.

If you're looking for proof of the existence of a deity, you needn't bother. After nearly ten thousand years of recorded history, nobody has come up with any; and if somebody does, why, it'll be in the headlines within twenty minutes and there'll be no news at all after that. So you can drop this thankless chore.
You're welcome.
As for the rest of your questions: You sound very young. Relax. You don't have to figure out everything right now, you know.
Get yourself an education, both in and out of school. You don't need to get into a lot of arguments, but you do need to remember that everybody has an agenda; so listen carefully, think critically, and remember to ask yourself why they expect you to believe what they tell you.
Good luck.

Any religion is of course not better than no religion at all. Look at it this way: would you rather be in a religion that tells you that you are an unworthy sinner, forces you to give them money and makes you feel guilty about yourself for no good reason, or have no religion? At least no religion doesn't harm you.
Also, I think that your search for proof of religion is in vain. Not only is there no proof for any of them, but most define God out of existence by saying that he is beyond being proved or disproved.
Don't feel pressured into choosing a religion. There is absolutely no shame in not having one.

Oxford University professor, Christian author, and former atheist C.S. Lewis once made the statement that, "There is truth in all religions." He did not state that all religions are equal. He just said that all religions carry some measure of truth. Based upon that, then yes, any religion is better than no religion at all.

Deciding about the existance of god, and which god to follow if there is one is the hardest thing I know of. Don't feel alone! It's very difficult.
I think it's because you can face the very big questions that its so difficult. Don't be hard on yourself. Think about your friends. How many of them really question these big issues? You are staring into the abyss. And when you do, the abyss stares back into you.
Keep questioning. Keep seeking. And remember, no god worth worshipping would punish someone just for seeking truth.

The answer is not a religion!
All religion is is man's attempt to control man!
You need to find answers that you can accept. It may not be in religion at all! Perhaps science is the direction you should look. After all you say you want proof that something is true or not. Science is all about proof!

No. You can't just make yourself believe a religion because someone says it is true. In reality no one knows which (if any) religion is true.
Do some research into what people believe. You may find one that suits you. Don't pick based on what others tell you is true or not. They really can't know.
