don't watch tv that much...go jogging, join a gym, get people to diet with you so you can complain about it together, eat slimfast optima bars they're so good and they keep hunger suppressed for 6 hours...genius!

Any kind of "fad" diet (i.e. Celebrity Fit, South Beach) is a bad idea. These diets rarely work, and some of them can actually be harmful to you.

I would not suggest a low or no carb diet either. First of all, diets like Atkins's allow you to eat as much fat as you like, and fats are part of the problem. You need to cut out the fat, not so much the carbs, in order to lose weight. Plus, if you don't eat enough carbs and you burn off all the fat you ate through exercise, your body begins to burn proteins, which is VERY bad for you.

My advice is to eat a well-balanced diet, cut back on fats and sugars, and get plenty of exercise. Use a program like BalanceLog or eDiets to help you plan your diet, log your calories, and keep track of your exercise.

And most importantly: don't get discouraged. You won't see results immediately - there's no such thing as instant weight loss. If you go to a party or a family dinner and eat a lot of junk, try not to worry about it. Enjoy yourself, then get back on track the next day.

I'm glad you're aware that you need to take it slow. Slow and steady weight loss is the best way to stay healthy and keep the weight off for good. Good luck!

Your best bet is to just get moving. Walking, hiking, biking, dancing, you name it as long as you are active.

I would be very careful about starting some sort of a diet. Talk to a doctor or a nutritionalist about your diet and how you should change it. Don't make sudden changes because it can slow your metabolism. Start with eliminating soft drinks, those are terrible one way or the other. The food you eat is very important, especially at your age because you are still developing bone mass. Be cautious that you are still getting the nutrition your body needs. I don't think carbs are neccesarily all that bad if you eat whole grains instead of refined sugars.

Good luck, now is a great time to make a change for the better!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

You should not change your mealtime habits because it could interfere with your development.

That being said, you should immediately eliminate all FATTENING AND SUGARY BEVERAGES from your diet. This includes lattes, sports drinks, soda, frappucinos, milk, etc.... Milk on cereal is OK but that's enough.

Next you should try to eliminate sugary snacks and cakes from your diet, as well as fried snack foods such as chips, etc....

Do not change your mealtime habits, and pre-measure your desserts out after you have just eaten the previous night's dessert. (Skipping dessert every other day can help also.)

WATER /w sugarless gum to make it less boring, Black Coffee, and diet soda are your friends when you need something between meals.

Do not skip meals or skimp on meals, just avoid the bad beverages and limit yourself to one small sugary snack per day, pre-measured, and you will be amazed at the difference.

Also you want to make sure you get 1/2 hour of exercise a day. Equivalent to swimming or jogging, if you are walking make it one hour a day.

GOOD LUCK, and don't diet or skip meals or it could mess with your physical development in a bad way.

eat right, and get into a physical routine. Work out, and watch what you eat and stick to it and youll loose plenty of weight. Keep in mind that getting older will help to, the whole getting more "womenly" deal will do some of it, but just get into a routine, start small, walks around town and the like, to runs through town, and remember to do more than just cardio work, do some weights as well to help keep down any of the loose skin or what not that will come about.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

Put your goals on your mirror and where you will see them every morning. Jog for about 30 minutes a day. Eat about 1500-1650 calories a day. Drink plenty of water. Stay away from sodas and other juices they are liquid calories and you still have to count them. Eat healthy foods...dont eat out or anything real greasy. Stick with it and best of luck. (if you are 14 you probably shouldnt be counting calories...if your hungry just eat less and be in control of your hunger...unless your parents support you counting your calories dont do it)

Change your diet and become more active.

My guess is that you are not very active. Try bicycle riding or walking if the weather permits. If not see if your mom will take you to a health club.

If you like junk food such as chips and cookies, try the ones that are low fat. There is also a wide variety of sweets to choose from. No fried foods. Drink plenty of water. You can do it!!!!
