Say the investigators found this in searching his personal possessions (i.e. no one else knows). Will they keep it secret from the public? Conversely, might they make false claims of devil worship????

That is highly hypothetical. Satanism, at least from my experience, is usually in response to Christianity. People could have the exact same tennets of beliefs and call themselves epicurean, or humanist, without branding themselves with the name of the Christian God's enemy. Considering that the gentleman in question is from South Korea, I would wager that he isn't. There is no oppositional force to Buddha, so I wouldn't even be able to give an equivalent.
If he were Satanist, for whatever reason, I doubt they'd show any fear of showing it, nor would they paint him out as a devil worshipper. Today's journalists do a fine job at showing things as they are, rather than pulling together religious stereotypes and trying to create a modern day witch-hunt. I mean, of course, apart from Fox News.

Yes, I think the media should have shown the video of Cho Seung Hui. I don't think showing Cho Seung-Hui's video by the media is glorifying his actions. When I saw on television that 33 people were killed in a mass shooting at Virginia Tech University, the first thing that came to my mind was, how could someone do something so horrible. I think that question was answered when NBC and other media stations showed the video of Cho. The airing of the video really showed how disturbed Cho was. He was a delusional man, who need help. I also don't agree with the statement that the video will prompt copycat killers because to my recollection, there was no video of the Columbine shooters. Yet there were other school shootings after the the Columbine shootings. The bottom line is that there are disturbed people out there and if they are going to commit mass murders, seeing the video of Cho is not going to change anything, other than(and this is what really concerns me) thinking of a way to out do what Cho has done.

Satanism isn't devil worship. Talk to someone thats a real satanist and you'll see what it is. I did think that Satanism was a religion for worshiping Satan but they really don't. For them its kinda like a middle finger and a F you to Christianity. They believe that humans are naturally sinners so they go on doing whatever they want and they don't want someone forgiving them cause they're always going to sin again. So they're at a point to where they don't care. I honestly don't think that the media will say anything about it unless the church or republicans (no offense) will pay them too. No one obviously knows much about satanism and not putting any offense on you but your an example of someone who doesn't know much. You have to ask, does anyone care if he was a Satanist? The media is only going to put in the part that the consumers want to hear.

No - trust me - if there was any "Satanism" or religious bent involved - they'd exploit it like crazy. But I also don't think the media would make something like that up (unless rumors surfaced). Right now they're pretty much saying that this guy had some serious emotional and mental problems and was in and out of counseling and psychiatric care. So he was mentally "not right".

I was just reading an article about that, I didn't read the whole thing but apparently he sent a video and photos to an NBC station where he was reading a rambling manifesto where he apparently saw himself as a martyr, and specifically said that he wanted to inspire the generations to come like Jesus Christ, so I find that unlikely that he was a Satanist. In any case he was clearly very ill.

Chances are, if he was indeed a 'satanist' it would not matte.r.

Satanists do not worship the devil..

iyt's more of a 'you are you own god/you do what the **** you want/ tihng, basically.

But, they might blow it out of proportion if he was, beucase most people are uber-christians who will do all they can to point the finger of pain in 'satans' face..

i find it funny, however- becuase there are also killings perofrmed by disturbed people((so they claim)) in gods' name, as well..

Afte rall, look at the witch burnings, and such.. ^^

He was mentally ill, and not very smart. Who cares what the false claims are? Don't you get enough of that from tabloids and trashy television? I doubt that satanists would appreciate not getting credit for a follower's work.

In the video he sent to NBC, Cho denounced hedonism, which is the same thing as Satanism.

I would guess so because the mass media is the devil's radio.

Satan's greatest trick was to convince the world that he doesn't exist.

I don't know. They said he was a Muslim extremist. We do know he was mentally ill, and we should leave his religion out of it. We need to pray for his family also. They can't help what he did. I am sure they are in great sorrow over this thing.

God have mercy.
