I'm assuming that the fall of Lucifer was prior to Adam and Eve. Satan (if you believe that he and Lucifer are the same) would've had to be first because he was the one to tempt Eve. The tree (and snake) came before Eve did.

Anyway, I just want some timeline clarification. Hopefully, someone will know.

Just to make things more clear:

I consider Adam and Eve to have been born from the Earth, from "God". I take the term "born" loosely, in this case.

Also, I'm not a Christian. Mythology interests me. To me, Lucifer, Adam, Eve, Lilith, and practically anyone else mentioned in the Bible are Gods. I was merely curious about something that I could not find an answer to.

Something else that I felt the need to say, Lucifer and Satan are not the same. Lucifer is a positive spiritual entity and Satan does not exist. So many people interchange the two, so I thought it would be easier to pretend that they were for the timeline's sake.

That's cute that you think that Adam and Eve existed.
Even cuter that you believe in Lucifer.

My 3 year old believes that her stuffed animal has a certain comforting power over her. It's cute.

God declared the world good 7 times before Adam was made on the the sixth day AHEM the same day the dinos would be made... and then VERY GOOD after Eve was made the same day ... so ... I suspect the angels did not yet fall yet because death had not entered the world and fallen angels would be not so good.

Adam and Ever were about 147 years old when they had Seth, their third son. I suspect the fall of the angel came sometimes after creation week and before Adam and Eve sinned and somewhere in that first 147 years

ont to complicate the works... but...
Time also does not pass at a constant rate in the universe... it slows down with gravity and would also urn slower if the earth is at the center of a finite universe, puttin us in the middle of a gravity well.....

so.... bottom line....it is possible time passes slower on earth and moves faster farther away from the center of the universe according to Russ Humphrey's Starlight and Time theory... so the angels could have spent longer time in the stars while only years passed with Adam and Eve

Small point, Adam and Eve were created, not born. But I know what you meant. :)

There is something called the "gap theory" based on Genesis 1 where it says "and the earth was without form and void". Yet in Isaiah 45:18, that same word in the Hebrew says that God did not create it a void. The wording in the Hebrew "hayah" could more accurately be translated "became without form and void". How long this gap lasted before the start of the six days of creation is not known. It could be that the fall was actually a fall to earth and that this caused the earth to fall into chaos.

Isaiah 14:12
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!"

Luke 10:18
[Jesus] said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven."

Lucifer was a Roman divine archetype meaning Light Bringer or Morning Star. He was associated with the Greek Prometheus. Thus meaning the early Christians literally pulled Lucifer from Roman reference and inserted him, incorrectly so, into their mythology in order to vilify the Roman religion. Lucifer had positive connotation and meaning before Christianity came along (just like the term Daemon and Daimon). So technically - it never happened. But according to the mythology - it was before Adam and Eve.

Lucifer was the Etruscan sun god, and later the god of Italian witches. Only in the middle ages did the church co-opt Lucifer into being thier devil, looong after the story of Adam and Eve was written down.

Also, neither Lucifer nor Satan were the one who tempted Eve; even Satan was not invented until long after the Eden story. According to the story, it was just a plain unnamed serpent, created by god, one must assume.

It speaks of it when God and Jesus created the heaven and the earth. You are right, Lucifer is tossed prior to Adam and Eve. God made the heavens and the Earth and everything in it. This is before time so there are no recordings of dates.

Unless the Book used is edited intensely for a particular sect, you won't find Lucifer, or Satan, written into the parable of Eden. The original Hebrew word was shaitan which may be directly translated two ways, according to context. It may be the original Hebrew "concept of evil or adversary" or the middle ages translation of "demon or devil" in Arabic usage. However, the Arabic usage points to a species not a singular entity.

Lucifer is the name that Jerome used when he translated Isaiah into Latin. It occurs exactly once in the whole Latin bible and does not occur in many English translations more recent than the KJV. Jewish tradition was and has always been that these passaged refer to Babylon and the king of Babylon.

There is an interesting article on Lucifer in Wikipedia.

first...satan is just another name for lucifer. lucifer was the name of the angel in second of command.
second...the fall was way before adam and eve. im assuming you know the story[lucifer wanted to overpower God and was kicked out of heaven, banished forever to the fiery pit that is hell, along with his followers - the fallen angels]. it was afterward that adam and eve were created, along with everything else of course. and because lucifer[satan]was so evil, and pretty much still held a grudge against God, wanted to get back at him. so thus begins the history of sin, and how we now must repent and accept Christs sacrifice to be reunited with our Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ.

God bless.

The I-isms of Lucifer in Isaiah 14 seem to have occurred prior to, or early on in creation.
On the sixth day of creation, Satan has already been cast out of heaven and cursed to earth.

Way before Adam and Eve.

When did the dinosaurs perish, 65 million years ago?

Satan has numerous names and roles.

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
