When have we ever followed what the bible says, Yes God created us after Adam, that means we are especially made and we were made from his rib not the dust, so we are cut from a different cloth. He has equiped us with the knowledge first remember we ate the apple first therefore we recieved the knowledge first.

Maybe YOU hold on to the Old Testament rules, but of course you are picking the ones you like.

Do you eat meat and milk at the same meal and on the same plate? Do you eat bacon? Well, that is against kosher dietary laws. And those are from the very same part of the Bible that you are using to try to oppress women.

When you wife has her menstrual period do you put her in a tent in the back yard? You should, it's the law.

Do you eat shrimp or lobster? Oh my, breaking yet more laws!

Are the animals you use for food slaughtered in accordance with the rules in Deuteronomy? No? Naughty boy.

Christianity is not a Chinese menu where you pick one from column a and one from column b to justify what YOU want to do.

Read your Bible before you talk garbage again.

The family is a completely different social arrangement from the nation. Family bonds are based on personal love whereas a nation defined by shared social life. Even assuming that the Bible teaches that women cannot hold authority in church or in the family, it does not necessarily mean that a woman can't lead our nation.

Again, this is a World Wide Web. Which nation are you talking about? Germany? Angela Merkel is a far better leader than Helmut Kohl ever was.

I certainly hope you're not talking about the USA. I'm in favor of more women in politics. They tend to think more rationaly. But, come on, you have Bush now. You can't seriously mean that on this whole planet you can find one woman who would be worse than Bush.

There have been some great world leaders who were women! I do not advocate for the woman currently running for president of the USA, but I am not wholly opposed to the idea. Margaret Thatcher was a great Prime Minister of England, to name one woman world leader. There are many others.

yes

male headership of families and leadership in many areas is normative, but there are examples in the Bible of women prophets and judges and co-teachers with their husbands

I think it would be over restricitve to rule out women leadership in government and in many fields. Women can manage and lead and do many things in many areas.... but in many areas male leadership is normative such as in the home or as a pastor I would probably not join a church with a woman pastor but I think there are roles in the church for women leadership and if there is no man to do something, sometimes a missionary woman has had to fill a role until a qualified man arises

Nowhere does the Bible say a woman can't be the leader of a nation.

There is nothing wrong with a woman being president. Saying something so bias is actually very offensive. However, this doesn't mean that I think Hillary Clinton would be a good president.

It depends on how smart the woman is. I'm pretty sure I'd rather have a smart woman that a stupid man (aka Bush). The bible is old fashion, and can't keep up with the generation, not letting a woman be president is sexist.

I admit I could possibly vote for a woman for president. But I doubt very seriously that a worthy one will rise up in the democratic party. Certainly not Billery.
