You are so right. I am with you. We must support each other if we are to get anywhere.
We won one battle today. Partial birth abortion is going to be banned. Someone needs to be the voice of the innocent people being tortured and killed by the millions. God hears their screams and will avenge their blood.

If you want kids to have confidence, put them in sports or have them join some teams where they can learn to work with people, or tell them to get a job. I've met some Christian kids who've grown up in absolutely devout Christian homes, and they were the quietest, least confident people I've ever met. It's because they're taught that God will take care of them, but then they wonder where he is when the bully is taking their lunch money.
Personally, I see no problem with letting Christian kids pray in school or anywhere else, just so long as you don't cry when someone of a different religion tries to have the same rights.

By the time a normal typical 10 year old hears about God he is seeped in video games, cartoons, rap or other music and does not readily accept the idea that those things are not good for his spiritual development. If we are to teach God to our children they must see God living in our beings. Our example -as parents- is the only one our children know. We cannot expect them to believe in God if we do not. There are only two great commandments; love God with all your heart soul and mind and love your neighbor as your self. If we did these things there would be peace in the family, the community, the state, the country and the earth.

Low self esteem is definitely not the problem here.
You need to settle back down there and learn a little about the United States. You're way too eager to suggest taking this country down the road to theocracy. The last thing that we need is to turn the U.S. into a nuclear-armed version of Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.

If god, and the associated concepts, contained such powerful wholesale goodness, we wouldn't NEED to bring them back. People would demand them, like they demand cellphones and MP3 players.
Don't make the mistake of thinking that what you believe is good for society is what society believes. Christianity has been losing ground for the last thousand years, not because the followers don't push it, or because the public doesn't know about it, but because it is a FLAWED doctrine.

They might have higher self esteem as they grew up, but that's not the point. The reason to teach that there is a real God who loves them, is that it's true. Ultimately, you teach truth to give people a chance to respond to it. Self esteem has little to do with it.

bwahahaha which god? that homophobic misogynistic old testament monster? Or had you someone else in mind?
The only place 'god' has in public schools is in comparative religion classes, together with the 2800+ other gods man has invented.

Actually- I think just the opposite.
Force your religious beliefs upon others, and you may see, for the first time in history, militant atheists in this country.
You may keep your freedom of belief, as long as you allow others the same right. OK?

Well, I do believe in separation of religion and government, but I gotta admit, since we kicked God out of schools, there's rising violence and drive-by shootings. Maybe if these kids did believe in something besides themselves they'd be less inclined to arbitrarily murder. We tried it, and its not working. Sure, if parents actually taught their kids, but unfortunately, too many can't be bothered, so they're not learning any morals at all. At least in the past, when God was allowed in school, they at least heard of Him, and considered the consequences. Now, all they consider is if they can get away with it.
Oh, and by the way, "Dear God" would apply to Jews and Muslims. Saying a quick prayer in school is not the same as teaching religion. I'm firmly against teaching religion in school, but saying a small prayer isn't gonna hurt anyone, except maybe some of the atheists who are so very intimidated by the word, "God". I have no idea what it is they're so scared of. They're intimidated by the words: God, Jesus, Christ, (unless its cursing), and they're apparently intimidated by seeing a cross. What's up with that? Are these people the most easily intimidated people on earth or what? I see a Jewish temple or a muslim mosque, I'm not intimidated, so I don't get it.

Have you all stopped teaching your children?
I know you stopped teaching mine and I am glad of it.
Why should you be allowed to teach your beliefs to other people's children? Can they have the opportunity to teach their religion to your children? What say we teach a different God every week with Atheism thrown in once a month for balance?
