She'll be starting public school in September and I'd like to do what I can to prepare her. Any advice?

There is not much of a difference from kindergarten to first grade. I was the same, I was in a private kindergarten and went to a public first grade. Maybe try to meet some of the kids beforehand.

I would contact the school she will attend and ask if she can come observe what a public school classroom is like. Go with her and point out all the positive things to her and she should be fine.

Urge her to invite some of the other kids over to your house that way she can make friends.

Have your kid meet some of the children in her class in advance so they are not all alone on the first day.

well she is six so there really wont be taht much of a diference...just talk to her and tell her that she can talk to you ad ask you any questions that she might have and just comfort her.
