I'm reinstalling windows (using the dell CD) on a dell desktop but the computer was left in safe mode. The problem is that windows won't install unless the system is initially in safe mode. Any ideas on how to fix this?

What I mean by using the DELL CD is that I'm using the system restore CD but the problem I'm having now is that the system isn't restoring because it was initially in safe mode. Not normal mode like it should have been. I can't switch back to normal mode because windows is trying to reinstall and I can't get to the desktop. Any idea on how to fix this?

I think your problem is the safe mode idea. Windows has auto run feature and does not need safe mode. Any more clues and i'll have to charge you a fee!!!!!

You can't use the Restore CD while running Windows.

Turn off your PC. Insert the Restore CD in the drive. Turn your PC on and follow the prompts.

Still stuck, call DELL.
