Well he works at a cafe that I always go to and well everytime I go there he always starts talking with me. He has complemented my hair a few times. He is also really friendly. Im 17 and never had a boyfriend and I know he is definetely older, possibly in college. All I know so far is his name because he asked me what my name was. I may possibly like him, but i don't know what to do, and what his motives are.

It's great that he is complimenting you but you should give it some more time before deciding if he is interested in you and how.
Perhaps a date, nothing serious at all, just a date out for pizza or something to get to know each other a bit better, this 'may' help you see where he is coming from. Better yet a double date would be a good idea too!

From what you said in your question there really isnt enough information to say he wants a one-night stand and you really arent sure how old he is. He could be in college and 19 which isnt a big difference in age.
Maybe because you go to the cafe and he notices you all the time hes trying to find a way to talk to you compliments on your hair and wants to know your name. If he was saying things like hey I get off work at 8 want to come back to my place. yah id say hes looking for one thing. Give it a while you might say something like "You know ive been coming in her for quite a while and everytime i do i notice you Hi my name is ____ maybe it will produce more info on his intention by the way he reacts....good luck

You are a cute seventeen year old girl, and he's older, and just flirting with you.
As you are 'jail Bait' that's all he can do.
So just enjoy his patter and flirting, and date someone your own age.
It will be a lot better for you and much safer. You still have a lot to learn of the dating scene. So don't start way out of your league, that way, you could get hurt.

dont label him a player just yet. maybe he's a nice guy that is interested in you! no you dont know his motives. but who really does when they meet someone. since you have never dated anyone before you have nothing to compare him to, so good. chill. if he asked you out GO!

proceed with caution especially since he is older. Look for someone your own age since you said haven't dated before and you are not sure you like him just the attention he gives you maybe. take it slowly

every mans motive is to get some, date him make it clear to
him your not that kind of girl you want to take it slow.or if you are that concerned you can tell him you are waiting for marriage.
