God didn't "allow" this to happen. We did.
I believe Christains ought to start doing as we know we ought simply ignore man's laws, and bring God back into the open. The worst thing that can happen is that we'll get sued. My kids prayed in school, and my grandchildren do it too. The same goes for us adults. We need to display our Christian faith proudly. Even aggressively. We need to bow our heads in prayer, even if we are eating at McDonald's. We need to cry "Merry Christmas" at Christmas time and "He is Risen" at Easter. We need to sing hymns everywhere we go, even in the grocery store. We may get arrested, so what? Are we then, better than the apostles?? We might get sued. What does it profit a man if he gain the whole world, but lose his soul? It is time to quit ourselves like men. Put on the whole armor of God. This is a real shooting war, and we are behind enemy lines. It is time for God's people to wake up!! We need to take back what we have let Satan snatch from us while we slept.
Honestly, Christians, where is our faith? Where is our obedience?
Is this why Jesus asked "when I return, will I find faith in the earth?"
EDIT:
Just so everybody knows, I am including myself in this rant, and this is my public vow to try my very best to try to live up to the standards He has set. May I not back down....
Let's do as the first Christians did, and pray for one another, that our faith, and our courage, not fail!!
Who is with me??

One reason our kids are turning to atheism is because they see the hypocrasy in US. We talk the talk, but we do not walk the walk. Let's start showing them true Christianity.
Let's exercise our rights as US citizens. WE have the RIGHT to our religion, we have the RIGHT to freedom of speech, just like anyone else. Christians are NOT second class citizens, but we will be soon if we don't start insisting on our RIGHTS just the same as any other religion in this country does. We've gone on acting as if we had special privileges in the US for so long, we've taken them for granted, and now we need to FIGHT!!

You know, when we go to a restraunt and we sit down to eat, I make sure I know my waiter/ waitress name, I tip 20% even if I think I may not afford it. I not only bow my head in prayer, but I lead in prayer out loud. Sometimes when my eyes go up afterwards, I look around to see if I am the villian, and I see that others have joined me at thier table in prayer. One day when Amen was said I felt a hand on my sholder of an elderly man just passing by. He said with a smile "Amen." I am not afraid to have God in my heart and if were to be shot dead for it then I would gladly die because I know where I am going.
The enimy struck this man in his head and spoke lies. Just as he did in Calaban and Wako. Convincing the weak that they are God. God was there protecting the survivors, bringing the one who didn't make it home, and eventually letting the eneimy win in the susiside so that the violence would end.
God was and is there for the ones who stood and watched helplessly. He was there in the heart of the professor that died saving 6 others from being shot by holding the door closed.
God did not do this any more then a person in Florida or Michigan did it. God was there though. He was there.
I am abosolutly amaszed how many people here where so quick to blame God and not thank Him that the death toll wasn't in the hundreds. Just as amazed that the enimy did not get one ounce of blame for it.
For those who are prayer warriors and have battled addictions, abuse, negect, depression, obession and grief you know what I mean. This guy obviously lost the battle and tried to take the whole world down with him.
Instead of saing, "My God how terrible..." what are you doing about it? Who have you called to say I love you. Have you prayed for the families? Have you done one thing to contribute prevention against this.
One guy is in the process of coming up with an early warning devise on cell phones so that if an emergancy in the area is happening all cells will be notified. That guy is taking action.
Violence begets violence rage begets rage.
Love and courage begets justice and peace.

I am with you. This is my public vow to live in His Name doing what I can, for as long as I can, however I can, in whatever way I can, knowing that I am responsible to the Lord alone, not to people, nor to organizations, nor to anything nor anyone except as He allows.
God has taught me that when I pray, and when I even dream about things, that He is the center of my life. I know that each person who died had a purpose, and a dream, and that God was aware of that person, and that courageous acts of sacrifice were made during the slaughter at Virginia Tech.
Being of Jewish and Gentile heritage, I salute our Judeo-Christian roots, and will stand on the Word of God as my guide and compass. Bless all of you, both Believers and aetheists, for God honors honesty, and true discussion. I am willing to live and to die for my faith. Keep it up. Gramma June

So your saying God allowed man to invent guns and allowed man the understanding of how to use them with out allowing them time to develop gods wisdom. So god created man and gave him free will and choices. But yet you would like the Christians to take what god has given us. Hell not even the Christians will ever go for that. If I have to believe in Jesus or God to live in America You will be moving back to Old England if they'll have you.

It reminds me of a bumper sticker from long ago that said "Guns don't kill, people do." I completely agree that this horror was not God's will and that it's ridiculous to ask why God didn't stop it. It's a fact of life that every person that is born will die some day. Either by accident, by their own hand, by someone else's hand, by natural disaster, by disease, or by old age. It's devastating to lose loved ones. By any means. But we must admit that we will all die eventually. Before we do, maybe we should find how we line up with our Creator. Will we end up in Paradise? When we die, will our loved one be comforted by the thought of our souls being with the Lord?
I agree that things would be better if all Christians lived theirs according to God's laws and Jesus' teachings. I don't see anything wrong with living by the word of God. God has taught us nothing but unconditional love and common sense. Peace!

Sure, why not be even more fanatical? It's not enough to think all religions are fake except for your own. It's not enough to pray for the world to end to your celibate Hanged God. It's not enough to have the public goal of global conquest and then act like it's all fine and peachy. No, you should shove your evil death cult into the faces of all the decent, normal people you pass in your daily life. Your Gallows God would want it that way.

Please don't be offended. you say God didn't allow it. THAT IMPLIES THAT He didn't have the power to stop it. I believe that the Bible teaches of an all powerful God who is in complete control and that everything happens because it was purposed by god before the foundation of the world. Things happen that we don't understand or think is right or fair. But how can the creature question the creator. Does the pot ask the potter why have you made me thus? I believe that the bible clearly teaches that all things work for the glory of god and the salvation of His people.

Yeah, right. More fanatical brain-washing is the answer. Sure. How about getting effective gun control laws and letting the police do their work instead of people assuming they have the right to take the law into their own hands. Any more bright ideas before you ignore "Thou shalt not kill" and start the civil war?

I agree with you, God did not allow this to happen. God is not an instrument to be used to prevent and solve our problems. He has given everything - this world, his laws, our wisdom - so that we can live in peace and be happy. It is really up to us. Christian countries have not really tried to pattern its society on the gospel.
This thing happened because of our evil systems and structures which put a premium on consumerism, wealth generation and lust for power.
Peace and every blessing!

extremely i do no longer think of any college, government, or college campus needs something to do with God. on the instant God is used as something to pull out purely in situations of want or disaster. Hypocritical use of God's blessing and phone.

See, now the whole "war" stuff makes me a little nervous. I start thinking where that's going to lead, and it leads me to the "American Inquisition", with people thumping bibles and yelling "DO YOU BELIEVE IN CHRIST? REPENT YOUR SINS!" then tourturing me until I do.
Now, it seems to me (and correct me if I'm wrong, that Christ was trying to tell us that 1) We're not perfect; 2) We all need to love each other a bit more; and 3) We all need to help each other out a bit more. From Christ's teachings, where do you get the whole armor of God war with Satan stuff?
Just curious, enlighten me please.
