Yes. MS Word is a word processor, as is WordPad (packaged with Windows), Corel WordPerfect, MS Works (a cheaper version) and others...
Whereas Notepad is a "text editor" and not a word processor, because it has no notion of fonts or formatting, just editing plain text files.

The software used to process words is a word processor. What you process in Microsoft Word is word processing. Word processor is what you process Microsoft. Eventually, Microsoft will process your brain to continue using their software for the lifetime, and beyond three generations.
