Glocks do NOT have safety issues. Keep your finger out of the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot. Don't just drop a Glock loose into a purse with a bunch of junk in it. Keep it in a holster until you need it. Glocks will shoot without the magazine in place (which I consider an advantage), so be aware of this. A Glock won't shoot just because you drop it, even if you drop it from a helicopter, so stop listening to 'urban myths' and talk to someone who knows Glocks.
If you want a 'safe' .9mm you have to define the word 'safe.' A .9mm that won't shoot when you take the magazine out? Look at the S & W and some Berettas for that. A .9mm that has nine manual safeties to disengage before it will shoot??? A little too much monkey work, if you ask me.
If you want a .9mm that is 'safe,' buy a Ruger .9mm revolver and keep it empty until you need it. Then load it with the moon clips available for it.
Good luck.

You're more dangerous than the gun. There are NO SAFE GUNS. Take the best designed handgun ever and put it in the hands of an idiot, and you will have a tragedy. Read your manuals, learn about your weapon, get trained PROPERLY, and practice regularly.
Glocks are very well-designed guns. They have three independent safeties to prevent them from going off unless you are pulling the trigger. They have no external safety to keep them from firing if you pull the trigger.
My personal preference for 9mm carry is the Glock 19.

Look at the Millennium series. These guns all have a manual safety, which the Glock does not.
Modern semi autos are pretty much "drop safe". The lack of a manual safety on some makes accidental discharges a bit more likely.
Learn about the gun. Learn to handle the gun. Learn to shoot the gun. In that order. You will be a safe shooter.

All modern semi auto service pistols are drop safe.
A Glock is only unsafe when you pull the trigger.
