I'm confused. How do the weak, curved ab muscles become the '6 pack' muscles? Or is it just the fat that makes them look that way in people with 'guts'? As the muscles get stronger do they straighten up, so as not to pooch out anymore?

to get ripped ab muscles you need to obviously strengthen your core, but also lose a lot of body fat. Your typical "ab model" will have under 10% body fat. Having body fat that low is actually unhealthy and can lead to immune deficencies.

People you see on TV with ripped abs usually go on a crash diet for a few weeks, get their pictures taken, and then gain wieght back to a more normal amount.

Everyone has a six pack, it is just covered with fat.

to get 6 pack you have to have low body fat percentage and pump them up. if you just do sit-ups etc. and not lose fat - your belly will only look bigger and nobody will see that there is any muscle.
