Careful, it might bite and suck your blood dry (vampire cat!)

he is showing you his love. My cats used to do the same thing. One was taken from her mama when she was too young, owners fault, not ours. And for years and years she would suck on our fingers (was not weaned when we got her) and knead our arms, legs, the blankets, etc... She still does when she is tired or is being held and petted (she is now almost 17). One of our outdoor cats would do the same thing... all we'd have to do is scratch down her back or massage her shoulders (as she got older) and she would start to knead the sidewalk or our laps and would drool (the cause of an accident where part of her tongue was removed from the side when she got in the trash and licked a lid which cut her tongue). She would also mew (with a lisp== instead of meow, it would sound like meowth LOL.).

The cat is needing like it would do when suckling with its mother, the cat is content and showing you affection, my baby cat tinkerbell sleeps on my body and needs before settling down, nothing is wrong, but show the cat your affection back, sounds like you took cat from mother at a very young age.good luck and enjoy the time together, of bonding

Because he is loving on you. When cats are kittens, they "knead" their mother to help produce milk. Then a lot of times they still do that when they are content and happy as adults.
The purring is the same, it's a sign of happiness and content with it's environment.

Your cat is "kneading". Usually cats do this when they are taken from their mothers at a very young age. Your cat is also showing you how comfortable he feels around you, treating you as a surrogate mother.

My cat does this, too. I always thought it was a nursing instinct. Kittens "knead" their mother's stomach when nursing, but that's just an assumption on my part.

It is simple your little kitty is happy and at peace. Purring with the claw pushing type movement is good....you have a happy cat.

He just loves you!! I love it when my cat does that to me, normally when they are doing that with their paws, it means he is getting ready to lay down on you to be close to you!

He is showing you that he loves you very very much and wants to be near you. You are lucky to have a loving cat that wants to give his owner a kitty massage.

this is a throw back to when he was nursing, it was comforting to him to suckle and knead his momma and now you are his momma.I had a little orange cat that lost her momma too early and she never grew out of this her whole life.

We always called it, "making biscuits". He is comfortable and this is how a cat does when he is making a comfy nest.
He loves you.
