Law is a rule of conduct established by competent authority for the common good.

In biblical terms, the moral law is the fatherly instruction of God, setting forth the ways which lead to happiness and proscribing those which lead to evil.

Justice is quality of being just; fairness.

In religious terms, justice is a moral virtue which consists in the constant and firm will to give their due to God and to neighbor.

Law is the rules of a society.

Justice is the proper reaction to any action.

In a society which strives to be just, the law will regulate only those actions which are proper to regulate, will specify appropriate consequences for breaking the law, and will be enforced justly.

Olive Wedell Holmes once said "this is a court of law - not a court of justice". Hence - courts are governed by laws and do not always produce justice.
