With broadband I find people and sites that send zipped files annoying; it takes longer unzip than the unzipped file saves in download time.
The zip program built into XP is sufficient for all zip files.
CAM Unzip does not handle any more file types than XP.
I only need to install file compression software to handle the odd types such as the occasional .RAR file. Since 7ZIP does this and is free it gets my vote.
WinZip Trial version /Std $29.96/ Pro 49.95
http://www.winzip.com/
WinZip 11.1 offers improved compression for audio files (WAV) and the ability to open .BZ2 and .RAR files.
7ZIP (Free)

Packing / unpacking: 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR
Unpacking only: RAR, CAB, ISO, ARJ, LZH, CHM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB and NSIS
WinRAR $29

WinRAR supports all popular compression formats (RAR, ZIP, CAB, ARJ, LZH, ACE, TAR, GZip, UUE, ISO, BZIP2, Z and 7-Zip).

WinRAR is the best zip/compression software out there. It can compress/decompress in zip format and just about any other compression format out there. Find it free at:

I have used Winzip for years.
http://www.winzip.com
There is a free trial, and it is well worth the $29.95 registration fee
