My daughter in law has a friend that told her, he did basic in Paris Texas. The only base there, that I knew of, was closed. It had been closed for many years. So my questions is this. Is there an open Army base in Paris Texas.

The last basic training post that were closed as far as basic training sites were Ft. Dix in NJ(closed as a BT post in the late 80's) and Ft McClelland in AL (closed sometime in the 90's). Paris, Texas never had a basic training post but it was a National Guard center, not quite the same. Ft Sill, OK is only about 2 hours north from there.

No, there is not an Army Base in Paris, Texas, there is Fort Hood in Killeen, Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, and Fort Bliss in El Paso.

like that other person said..i closed in the end of 2006 so if he went to basic before then, then he was probably one of the last people to attend basic there.

There is a base open in Killeen, TX (Fort Hood) and Fort Sam Houston is also open still....but the one in Paris is closed now...
