most vets will not do a back declaw because it leaves all defense for your cat in the toilet. Consider why you need to do a back declaw and think of what other options there are. Do you also realize that a declaw is actually an amputation? Consider also this. I declawed one of my cats and I will NEVER NEVER NEVER do it again. The vet messed up twice and now I have to clip my cats nails still because they grow out of his pads. Just think if it is worth doing that to your cat. Go to a pet store they have lots of products that help with cats that scratch

Yes, they can be, but that leaves the cat completely defenseless if it somehow gets outside. It is highly recommended to leave at least the back claws intact, although preferably both, given that a declaw is the equivalent of cutting our fingers off at the first joint.

yes they can be removed but the cat goes through pain and serious surgery!!!

the cat claws are its major defence and it will still need to use its claws. also, the cat can never be let out side. the claws are its only way to protect itself from any animal that tries to get it!!!!

they can be declawed but my vet said to keep the back ones because if they get in a fight they can use them with defense instead of getting killed. so if you get both taken out then you have a greater possibility of your cats getting hurt.

Yes, I had my 3 kittens 4 paws declawed. There so soft. I don't know if cats can but my kittens were under 6 months old when they were done. No problems.

Yes it can be done- but it is totally unnecessary to declaw the back legs. There is no need for it.

Don't do it - it's painful, physically and psychologically - you can't explain to a cat why you chopped off a part of her or his body, all your cat will understand is the pain. It's mutilation. Why would you want to do something like that?

Course they can, anything can be chopped off using a surgeon's knife, including limbs. It not a question of whether you can, it's whether you should.
