I'm not at all sure what you're asking. The IRS doesn't transfer money out of the country from people's checking accounts, that for sure. I don't get what you mean by "claim a tax return". A tax return is a group of papers that you file with the IRS.

Well assuming that you worked last year and did pay taxes here in the United States and are due a refund then yes you can go anywhere you want to after filing and just let the irs know where to send your refund (they can send it straight to your bank account if you'd like). The deadline for filing a federal tax return was this past monday so if you haven't filed yet (and asked for an extension) then you're in trouble.

Are you talking about 2006 return or 2007 return?

If you are not leaving for a few months yet, your 2006 return should be refunded to you by the time you leave.

If you are still making an income this year, you can file electronically next year for 2007 return. It is best if you keep an US bank account so IRS can direct deposit your refund. Alternatively, open an account with a bank who handles multi-currencies, such as CitiBank, EverBank etc. They have better ways in handling such situation.

Best wishes.

no he do no longer might desire to declare any if he's due a reimbursement yet he ought to.if he owes the irs would be contacting him and he will pay outcomes and interest. you could purely declare taxes as some distance lower back as 3 years something longer than this is null and void.
