It's inexpensive, but with three kids under 6 and a dog maybe I should consider it. Or do you think it is a real peice of crap and should be avoided because I'll be dissaponted with it.

My sister bought an inexpensive leather sofa, she now hates it. Has 4 kids and a dog the sofa shows tons of little scratches all over it. I would recommend a sturdy fabric, scotch guard the heck out of it so it is easy to clean. Buy something with removable cushion covers so that they can be washed.

Sorry but you absolutely get what you pay for. I would invest in a good quality leather sectional if that is what you really have your heart set on - it will last so much longer and wear so much better than a vinyl sectional. Not even mentioning the feel of the thing!

If leather is out of the ballpark, try a slipcovered sectional with pre-washed slipcover fabric. That way you can wash the covers as needed for a great look all the time.

Again - think about how that vinyl will feel. ick....

I don't know how you feel about "gently used furniture", but my daughter just bought a Stunning, expensive Sofa, Love seat, club chair and ottoman for $275.00 because the people are moving.

Try Craig's list for your area. There are some great buys on it.

It might be a good way to go while the children are young.

Ok, I am answering this question as long as you don't ask me why I know this. = ) The proper name is couch. The love seat is a type of two person couch while the sofa is a type of 2 or more person couch. A davenport and settee are just other names for a sofa. Ugh, I fell embarrassed ...... = )

Maybe you can ask the store, too if they have extended furniture protection plan that you can buy. I'm guessing it would be worth it with 3 kids and a dog. Here's an example of the furniture protection plan:

No, I think it would be ideal right now especially with 3 kids. Any messes can easily be wiped up. Although, you may want to consider the likelihood of it getting punctured. It would depend on how rambunctious your kids ( and your dog ) are.
