we just found out on monday a family member had a brain tumor and they operated on him yesterday. Surgery was 3 hours long.. they got 95% out and doc thinks it's most likely cancerous. He will need radiation for a couple of weeks and also chemo.. doc thinks it could be 1 or 2 types of cancer (biopsy still being done) and if it's one of those, it's treatable..
has anyone ever had a cancerous brain tumor and cancer free now? please please pray for my brother in law..
thank you.. :(

You never mentioned the location of the brain tumor, but I have had 2 removed in the right frontal lobe of my skull. The second one returned 6 years later in the same spot. I had 33 treatments of radiation for the first one, and the doctors are putting me on a chemo pill called "Temodar" for the second one. I have to be on this pill for one year. Don't think the worst for your brother-in-law, depending on where the tumor was, the outcome and treatment is quite manageable. I didn't lose any of my senses (like hearing, seeing, tasting, etc..) and I am thinking positive. The absolute BEST thing your brother-in-law can have is SUPPORT from all of his family and friends. That's how I keep a positive attitude. (Plus a lot of prayer) I consider myself a miracle because the doctors did not expect me to make it off the operating room table and I'm still here 7 years later. Don't ever give up hope. You never know what will happen. If you choose to, let your brother-in-law read this from one cancer patient to another.

My son was diagnoised with AT/RT a rare brain tumor found mostly in infants. He was 13 months old at the time, he has had two surgeries the second one removed all the tumor. He had 6 rounds of high dose chemo with stem cell rescue after the last three, and had internal radiation with the second surgery. He was given less than a 5 % chance of making it 6 months. He has made it 6 months off treatment, and he just celebrated his one year from diagnosis. There are people beating cancer everyday. You usually only hear when cancer wins, but there are plenty of survivors out here. I hope and pray that he will make it also.

I hope your brother in law is going to be OK.

I had a coach in high school who had a brain tumor that was removed and he didn't have it reoccur as long as I knew him or knew of him cos I had family at that school.

Radiation and chemo sucks. But hopefully it will do the trick for him and the struggle will pay off.

My family members, nurses and preachers. i've got seen the two, a tumor is a improve in or on the recommendations. the place the aneurysm is a vein in the recommendations that blows and leaks blood into the encompassing tissue. maximum human beings die of the aneurysm, that's rapid. status there speaking and that they are long gone. Of the two take the aneurysm.

So sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. Thank God I've never had one but his chances sound promising. I'll keep him in my prayers.
