My belief system says that I am human, you are human, and we are special because we are humans. That is the one thing that my beliefs tell me that no one, even from other religions, can deny.

The concept of TRUTH does not apply to religion. The possibility of being true means there is also the possibility of being wrong. There are certain factual assertions that can be tested for validity, but it isn't fair to judge the entirety of a religion based on a few incorrect factual statements. However, many religions contain stories about the origins of life and life after death that cannot be proven or disproved. Belief in something in the absence of evidence is a matter of faith--something common to all religions. Given that religion is premised on faith, TRUTH is in the eye of the believer. In other words, with respect to every religion, there exists at least one person that believes it to be false, and at least one person that believes it to be true. I wouldn't say that religion hasn't helped humanity as a whole. Faith is real even if the object of that faith is not. The faithful have done many great things and many terrible things in the name of religion. Building a temple to honor the gods may have advanced the field of engineering. The desire to efficiently replicate the Christian Bible may have lead to the printing press. Of course, religion also caused The Crusades.

You hit the nail on the head, there is truth in all the major religions and belief systems. No one has a monopoly on the truth.
I think it is rather ironic in that regard, as we all need each other to piece the "whole truth" together.
In other words we can only seek the Truth by learning all the pieces that each group has to offer and melding them together.
Therefore, those who wish to see only their portion of the truth are missing all that other groups have to offer in the real quest for divine understanding and knowingness.
That is also their Choice and must be respected and treated with great compassion as it leaves them in the worse kind of ignorance and isolation separated from the unity of All That Is.

I don't think that anybody would argue with the idea of lending a helping hand to those in need, which is a strong part of my religion's teachings (and not only my own, of course, but of many others).
Yes, I feel that other beliefs, religions, spiritual paths and philosophies than my own contain elements of truth.

There are three things that Christianity states that all other religions deny or reject:
1. Total Depravity of Mankind
2. Deity of Christ
3. Forgiveness of Sins without Good Works.
Sorry, not all truth is relative.

"An it harm none..." No one has the right to harm others or themselves, to do so diminishes us all. Other religions will tell you to not bring harm to others and respect yourself in a lot of words, or tell you the ways not to harm others, but when you boil it all down, it comes to respecting others and yourself.
Blessed Be )O(
And I will still take a hug until it hurts :D

Truth and untruth may be relative, but if theres one truth everyone will agree on, is that no one has the right to judge another human being.
And that were all at the same in existence and rights.

"No greater love a man can have than that he die to save his friends" ;the words of Jesus Christ. What is your religion anyway? You seem spiritual but does your religion have a name?
Give your hugs to Richard Gere.

in my religion u have to:
- obey to ur parents and take care of them when they grow up like they did to u when u were a child.
--help weak people,give money to poor,be honest,say the truth,don't kill,don't steel,don't cheat.
---be tolerant and never hurt someone who did sth bad to u.
----visit sick people.
-----think about orphelins and treat them as ur sister,brother,child...don't let them feel special by loosing their parents.
-------be kind to ur neighbore,ur guest, and anyone who needs help even if it's ur enemy.
--------respect elders and help them if they need help even if u don't know them.
that's so many of what my religion says and no other religion can denny.
my religion is islam by the way.
I had two thums down because my religion is islam???if that's what I expect then I'm sorry to say that those 2 persons know nothing about islam which is really mis-understood by most of westerns.anyway I forgot to add that islam also says that one of the conditions to me muslin is to believe in other religions.so I do have respect to anyone who 's not muslim because it's never through religion that we judge others
