In other words, is it possible to gather evidence of something without pointing at the thing evidenced?
No, I do not think so. I've tried this from several angles, and I come back to the same conclusion. "Observe this lack of evidence" is about all one can say; a lack of confirmation does not verify or falsify a statement in and of itself. It's the classic "Insufficient data" rephrased.

If you don't believe then don't believe. Why must you try to discredit what others need to believe in?
