Actually no..... If I suspend my disbelief for one moment and assume god and the afterlife etc, it is more logical to assume that they ALL exist, but independently of each other. It is more logical to assume that there was error or self-aggrandisement when each of them claimed to be the only way.

simple...
If the Bible were true. Then it would have been the first thing known and the Christian God would be real. Then once man sinned, God punished us and then told us that Jesus would come back and save us. Well, then as the years went by the people passed the story of God on to theie kids and how Jesus was coming to save them for the world, and then people began to distort this story as most tend to do. Then we have the off versions and all of the Christian Religion, if you look most are about the same as Christian, all speak of hell and a heaven and a savior. That is what I believe to have happened.
Also, before the Flood when the angels and women did their thing there could have been weird variations. Some people who had lost their faith in God would have most likely worshiped these people, because like men today no one has faith, even in the beginning when we were closer to God people still lost faith, and now it is almost gone. And people rely on what they can see, not faith. Which makes sense for the most part, but the problem is that when you have faith, you'll begin to see. And we have lost faith, so there is no more seeing. Except for the few places that rely on God completely they still see miracles... They have faith, the thing that we are lacking, and that is why everything is bad, we have forgotten God.
Look at the Irsaelites. God had brought them through Egypt, captivation and they wanted to go back. Then they lost faith and God punished, then they came crawling back, He then restored them. That is what we need to do, Crawl back and ask for forgivness.
I'm sorry that towards the end I got a little off subject.

The father of the lie said "you certainly will not die", but we all know 'we do die'. So that was a lie.
Either something/anything is true or it's not.
U can't ring a bell, then say the bell isn't ringing; all the while the bell is ringing in ur ear.
Either it has the ring of truth or it doesn't.
Most major religious faiths have the same thread of truth in them. Stories of Noah's ark for example.Satan the Devil leading mankind into a world of temptation & sin.
It's not 'unlikely', w/ such different & opposing views they can't all be right, 'that' would be illogical

There are several possible answers:
1) There is one true faith, and all other faiths are either corrupted or false. Everyone believing in the one true faith is correct, everyone else will go to hell / have their spirit separated from God, or some other horrible existence.
2) All faiths are correct, so long as a person believes in a higher power, the higher power will accept them. Denial of the higher power results in hell / horrible eternal existence.
3) All faiths are correct, but there is no penalty for not believing - e.g. higher power doesn't give a hoot if you worship it or not - death is simply a portal to the next plane of existence.
4) No faiths are correct, we so misunderstand this higher power that whatever we think it wants, it actually isn't concerned with us at all. Kind of like us and amoebas.

From a Deist perspective I know that logically if there is an Afterlife there is but One and there is but One Great God. Do I think that everything from one Faith is true? No. Do I think that everything from every Faith is false? No. I think that by human error Scriptures of all Faith's have been morphed even ever so slightly but I think at its core all Faith's have some good lessons.
On that note I often do an Arabic Prayer while crossing my heart to show my blending of Faith.

How can one answer to 3 + 4 be true and all others be false? Isn't that highly illogical? Or does truth tend to have one answer.

Actually, the converse is true. If there is absolute reality and truth, the only case where any and every religion is real, is if none of them are real and they are all just beliefs to ease people's minds. Because 2 + 2 = 4, is true it follows that
2 + 3 ^= 4, 2 + 4 ^= 4 and so forth.
Since God is real and his Word is truth, everything that contradicts that truth is false

One faith that has been distorted by people who know part of the picture. Remember, Noah and his family? We all came from this family after the flood. Noah's sons were taught the same faith in God as Noah. The sons wives were raised by other families. Their influence probably played a role in the education of the children and then their children until.... Well until it did what the Christian faith did and branch out to Protestants from Catholics. My opinion of course.

There are millions and millions that follow different "religions." They are sincere people and believe they are doing the right thing. Can millions and millions of people be wrong? Absolutely.

We believe BY FAITH that the Bible is the infallable word of God. We believe BY FAITH that God inspired men to write down His laws.
After hearing the gospel, we made a decision using free will to accept the gospel as truth BY FAITH and TRUST in Yeshua our savior.
Anyone can believe or disbelieve. So if it is illogical to you, then simply don't believe.

only one can be true because of the law of noncontradiction. 1+1 can't be 2 in the u.s. but be 3 in in england. same with spiritual things. one says, believe me and live, another says, no believe me and live. well someone's gotta be right. i read a book that cleared this whole issue up nicely. basically he showed that the only religions that could be true are the monotheistic ones. Judaism, christianity, and islam. he then further elaborated on one each in particulars....and read it to find out :D not very long, i got it for like $10 at amazon
