God doesn't really have a specific gender. Angels are spirit beings just like Him and they have no gender or physical body.
God is always referred to as a male because it's how He refers to Himself, "Father" "King" etc. etc.

It's simple they don't, they just except it because that has been the over riding doctrine of our patriarchal society and culture in the western world.
Here is an interesting take on the question by Sylvia Brown,
"Does it startle you even to think of a Female God? It should, because our society has been misled (for about 2000 years) and taught that God is only male. How ridiculous! Why would a single, male god make everything in creation as a paired male/female? It is much more sensible that God's creation mirrors Their own image, both male and female.
Does the Bible offer any support for a female counterpart to God? Yes indeed! In fact, a very interesting statement was left in the Bible (Genesis 1:26, The New Jerusalem Bible, 1985) which supports a dualistic nature for God, namely:
"Let US make man in our own image,
in the likeness of ourselves ...."
Pay heed that the above quote uses a plural reference to God. Naturally one wants to know about these other gods. Could it have been a mistake in the Bible? (Even this has not been proposed by the established church.) Or is this a reference to the doctrine of a "triune" God, i.e., the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? No, it cannot be the Trinity either, for that was developed in the New Testament many thousands of years later! "
Food for thought!

Hey you got that idea off my question whether God has a gender, after watching the Matrix and being in awe of what type of concious could create reality, don't feel it could be either, or it could be both at the same time and more even still.

I do not think that the Divine, it Its ultimate manifestation, either has a gender or is comprehensible to human beings.
However, I do believe that we can relate to the Divine by filtering it through our human perception, which often includes assigning a gender to It. As a Wiccan, I honor the Divine as both male and female, God and Goddess, and view the cycles of the universe as manifestations of the unending dance of Their love.

In Christianity it is sure that God is male
but in Islam, he is not a male or female.
no one knows...that is why we refer to him as God..not man or anything.
and also as like a higher supreme being.
but when we say He.. we mean God, not like He as in God is a man.
wow and people say that islam disrespects women, christians are being ruled by a man (well at least thats what i heard)
and muslims dont say they are ruled by man or woman, we are ruled by God....simple as that.
Peace

I'm guessing probably because when the poltheistic religons were started, and it was waaay back when when guys were considered superior, and the idea just sort of stuck.
Especially since when you are brought up beleiving a religon it's usually the one you stick with, so one might assume the main ideas of the religon stick too.
