In order for something to be considered "alive" in the Biblical sense, it had to have the following:
1) Blood - since life is in the blood (Leviticus)
2) Breath of life - it had to breathe.
if fish weren't considered alive, what were they considered? what about bugs, do they breathe, are they alive then, when fish are not?

in my pagan path, i consider fish to be a part of nature and every bit alive, just like bugs, and trees etc.
