I'm not sure what you mean by 'obtain the impossible.' Miracles? Then yes, many miracles have been wrought by the fasting and prayers of those with faith. Personal sacrifice, will always bring blessings.
Fasting shows God that we are willing to put off something physical, our natural desires (the desire for food), in exchange for something spiritual. And He is always generous.

Prayer is the conversation you are having with God.
You are telling Him how you feel, what you want for you and others.
That you are not happy about someone who has done you a bad turn.

The fasting thing, I don't go along with.
Too deep to go into here.
No fasting for me.
Anyone who says to, let them do it.
