How come that people that believe in Jesus do not follow what he said?I grew up and went to Catholic school all I ever experienced was pain.Disrimination, humiliation etc that took a long time to get over and even as I grew older I have yet to meet someone that is forgiving an loving as they say they are.I dont believe anymore, because I just dont get it that people who love Jesus have done me more harm than people that do not believe.I feel betrayed and feel like a fool when an Christmas when I was a child I was put in the basment with a blanket so my parents could have there party, that night my only friend was Jesus and I was happy even as I was in that cold place. After that nothing changed no matter how much I prayed so I stopped and now I hate religion for what they did.Why would a just God let this happen? He forgives killers, but he cant save a child? How can he just do nothing to those monsters? Why did he leave me alone?

Oh darling, you sound like you've had a very unhappy life and have maybe just met all the wrong people. There are many, many people who will love you just as you are. I am so sorry that you had such a bad experience of childhood but you say that the night of the party, Jesus was your only friend and you were happy even in that cold place. Jesus is still your friend and I am sorry if people you trusted let you down. I will pray for you and I will pray that you will meet people who are true Christians and will help you to come to terms with your past. Bless you.

I am also Catholic. I can not vouch for your family but i think what you said about Catholic school is a lie. Nuns and priests were very much part of the Civil rights movement led by Martin Luther King Jr. and started by Rosa Parks. I go to a Catholic Church in a town that is over 90% white and attend Masses with at least 5 ethnic groups. I was homeless for over 3 years and not only was i not discriminated against, i was helped with things i never asked for. If you really are not lying, that place is isolated and totally out of order. Peace be with you

Not everyone who calls themselves Catholic or Christian is, not all of them love Jesus, i expect some of the people who went to the Catholic school just pretended they were catholic so they could get a place. Jesus was there for you when you were cold and alone and he is still there for you now. I'm sorry you feel betrayed but you are not a fool for trusting in God.

Wow. You have been through a lot. I can't say why God didnt help you out of it, and I am not going to give you the typical line "it was God's plan," but sometimes we go through crap and never know why. But Jesus did promise his followers that they would have a lot of trouble in the world if they followed him. I hope that 1) your hurt will go away 2)you dont give up on God just because of the 'religion' that people have made from believing in Him and His Son Jesus.

Remeber, no one is perfect. Not all people that go to Catholic or Christian school are Christian. I have faced things you have, except I believe. God does love you and wants to be your friend. No one knows how God works, he works in many different ways. God is always with you. He can talk to you in a quiet whisper or a loud shout. God is always in you though. God was there with you all the time, but you may have not listened for His voice. God bless you. I hope I helped.
Remember Jesus LOVES you.

Your problem is with people, not with religon. Religon is used as gang colors for most people these days and is bastardized by many to turn it into a cash machine.

Religon and philosophy are ways of teaching common sense to people that don't have common sense. But most people are too afraid to think for themselves. Religon is great as long as you don't use it as a crutch.

As for Jesus not answering you prayers, he never once answered mine for most anything either, don't wait for a miracle in your aspects of life, get out there and make one for yourself. After going through the Hell you depicted, you should try and find a way to prevent others from experiencing it. That is the best advice I can give you.

Sounds like you need some sit down time with Dr. Phil.
We all have a purpose for living and we all have things we need to go through. God will never give us burdens that we are not able to bear.
God 'let things happen' to you, because you were meant to learn and grow from those experiences.
God didn't leave you alone. He never would and never will. He loves you very much, whether you want to believe it or not.

You might well ask such questions and never know the answer throughout your life but, there are people who will honestly swear to it that some sort of belief in Jesus,God,Allah, Brahma,or Saint gave them the strength to come through a hopeless situation.Unexplainable events do take place and are called Miracles.

If you don't believe then why do you care?
If you want to come back home then amen.
If you want to bash on Jesus and his followers you can do that too.
Your life is a gift from GOD for you to do with as you wish.

May the Lord richly bless you and may you find peace some day.

You are not alone.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
