Hi AuntCarolyn,
I have a garden and usually give my neighbors tomatoes or peppers from it. I have also helped my other neighbor move furniture and given them rides.

I have a very long driveway which I must shovel by hand. After a recent storm dumped a foot of heavy wet snow, one of my neighbors plowed my driveway while I was still sleeping. I woke up and it was all done. Boy, was I grateful! I have yet to discover who did it but, when I do, I hope to find some equally sneaky way to reciprocate.

By giving them something they might not have. Through a religious perspective, I would try to give a neighbor eternal life by leading them into the path of righteousness and salvation! I may not be able to give them money or material things, I may help them physically...but what is more important? This life and this world or a life of happiness in heaven!!!

At school we emailed a ton of design shows and got one of our student adviser's basement redone for her husband returning home from the military (Iraq). Nine months later, he would take his son into the room to show him "how real men watch sports". (He won a wide screen tv for answering his wife's question correctly at the end of the show.)
So if you think your neighbor would be up for it, here's a link that lists every home improvement show in the USA and Australia.

See what need they have and meet it. If they are elderly, ask them if they have some errands that you could run for them. Find out, and help out.
