ok how old do you have to be to get married in North Carolina...NOO i am not planning on getting married at 16 but i need to know for a project in health

16 with parental permission, 18 without parents.

I believe it is 18 to legally get married, 16 to get that court order (cant think of the name of it off the top of my head) to move out on your own and be considered an adult, at which time you can legally get married having all the rights as an adult does, or 16 to get married with parents consent. Unless of course your pregnant, which I do believe you can get married at 16 in that situation also. Not entirely sure though on that one.

Anyone under 20 years of age will need to show a certified copy of their birth certificate. If you are between 16 and 17 years old, you will have to show parental consent. Those who are 14 to 15 years old, you can't get a marriage license without a court order. Anyone under 14 years of age cannot get married.

most likely 18, but you could check under the North Carolina State laws...

Jeez I'm glad you said you wanted to know for a school project. Otherwise, my answer would have been if the question starts with how old do you have to be, you probably aren't old enough. Good luck with your project. I hope you make an A.
