I went to my junior prom with this guy that I didn't know very well at the time. I did know that even though he's a good guy he could say mean things and act like a jerk, but he never acted this way towards me. After prom, he started to get a crush on me and therefore was nice to me even though he still continued to be mean to other people. Now his crush faded, and now he is a jerk to me as well. I can't put up with this, and I think I'm starting to get a crush on him, so what do I do? How do I make him stop acting like a jerk, at least to me?

You can't make him stop being a jerk. Only your friend can change that about him. However, you can help him recognize his poor attitude and the affect it has on others. Tell him that although you like him you do not like his rude ways and will not hang out with him until he learns to be more respectful to you. If he truly cares about you as a person it will upset him that his behavior drove you away and may force him to take a look at himself and change.
If not, then I would suggest getting over him because you don't need to allow someone in your life who is going to be a complete turd to you.

You will get exactly what you ask to get ... if you want a jerk, and if this is the first real guy you have dated, and you develop a liking for guys who are jerks, guess what you are going to feel the most comfortable with five or ten years from now? Guys who are jerks. Your choice. Get a jerk or find a nice guy.

He is being a jerk to you because he likes you and at first he didn't think you liked him back. Now that he is being a jerk to you it is attracting you to him. This is how things work. Most girls are attracted to the Bad boy types. It intrigues girls. Makes girls want to find more about that person.
