Many are poseurs and point-gamers.
Fortnately, not all persons posting in this Forum are intolerant or hate-mongers. Any reasonable non-believer would be embarrassed by some of the content by these persons.
Instead it seems that a lot of non-believers have become increasingly shrill of late, apparently hoping that saying something more loudly and more dogmatically will make it seem more credible, especially to their embattled supporters. Believers have nothing to fear from this hostile rhetoric, unpleasant through it may be. Hopelessly overstated arguments that once seemed so persuasive such as "science disproves God" have lost their credibility, becoming mindless slogans, where once they were cutting-edge ideas. Their rhetoric is about preaching to the converted, shoring up a collapsing building with rhetoric rather than rigorous argument.
Likewise, the questions being posed are sometimes poorly formed or are laden with underlying bias that tells the reader that no cogent and rigorous answer will satisfy the asker.
The best solution I can recommend for you is to ignore any of the vapid questions or comments of the ill-mannered. It is very easy to scan past them and focus your eyes on the substantive and cogent items. If you spend enough time in this Forum the persons prone to bad behavior become known quickly, thereby enabling you to ignore their wasted efforts even easier.

Yes, I have noticed it's not as interesting as it once was. However this section (at least) goes through phases where things are REALLY good, then the tide begins to turn, then it gets down right HORRIBLE, then it's like there's a void and so it's just blah, then it becomes really good again.
It's the atheists, the fundies, the reportbots, the whole works. We've debated practically everything, including this question. As well as the whole seperating the section into sub-sections thing.

No.
IMO, who is "screwing up" this section are the people who target others (for what seem to me to be very mean-spirited reasons) like pangel, Laptop Jesus, godzilla, Kallan, and so on.
I don't think that atheists are making this place uninteresting, and I don't think that you have to read everything that is posted here.
Have you considered being selective about what you read and respond to? Why do you have a desire to try to get people kicked out of here? That's the moral equivalent of what I mentioned above, targeting people to have their accounts deleted.
Peace out.

Salut!
Seriously, the section is open to all who wish to discuss religion and spirituality. I would think that people of all faiths -- and I am including the Athiests in this because expressing a strong belief there is no deity is also a declaration of faith -- would welcome challenges that make us consider what we believe in a new light, and that they would also take comfort in the reframing of those declarations of faith in a new, personal way as well.
Which you focus on, which you use, is up to you. It's all here, and imo, it's mostly good.

You can't put all of the blame on the Atheists you know. There are many guilty parties involved. But of course you conveniently leave them out as well. I don't care you can think whatever you want to think.

Well, I would like to see serious questions from people who really want answers instead of all the sarcasm that is running rampant. And I don't care for so many snide remarks from people who really don't have a clue and by the time they get it, it will be to late for them. They just continue to make me understand just how correct the word of God is. They're helping to fulfill Bible prophesy and they don't even know it. How sad, I really pity them.

Actually it usually is the fundamentalist questions that get the most interest and answers.
That goes for both Atheist and Religious varieties... so the dual parties in R&S should lead to even more interesting questions rather than less.

I disagree. I find the R&S Section quite interesting, educational, and entertaining. No one is messing up this section because there's nothing to mess up. And no one is being sent anywhere.

Ummm if you find an environment where everyone agrees interesting, you may also enjoy staring at blank sheets of paper for hours...
or maybe prime time television *shudder*
If you think you can send me anywhere, go ahead and try, bub. Let's see if it tickles.
