From Adam to Noah the duration of man's life ranges from 500 to 1,000 years.
From Sem to Thare it ranges from 200 to 600.
From Abraham to Moses, from 100 to 200. Abraham lived 175 years; Isaac, 180; Jacob, 147.
After that the average human life is 70 or 80 years.
Mathusala:
Respective ages according to the Hebrew text, Septuagint, and Samaritan Bible:
Hebrew: 187 + 782 = 969
Samaritan: 67 + 653 = 720
Chaldean: 167 + 802 = 969

Methuselah (Mathusala or Mathusale)
Exact meaning is somewhat uncertain: Dr. Henry Morris says it may mean, "When he dies, judgment." Others say: "When he is dead it shall be sent" ("it" refers to the Deluge) (Cornwall and Smith, Exhaustive Dictionary of Bible Names). Others say the name means: "Man of the dart" or "...javelin" (Holzinger / Also: Larry Richards, Every Man in the Bible.
the son of Enoch, father of Lamech, and grandfather of Noah
He was the oldest man of whom we have any record. This very ancient man lived before the Flood, and died at the age of 969 years, in the year of the Flood (Gen. 5:21-27; 1 Chr. 1:3). This fact, plus the former possible meaning of his name, suggests that Methuselah's very godly father, Enoch, received a prophecy from God when his son was born, thus the name. Methuselah's great age may be further evidence of God's "long-suffering...in the days of Noah" (1 Peter 3:20; 2 Peter 3:9).
Methuselah's name is mentioned seven times in the Bible: Genesis 5:21,22, 25,26,27; 1 Chronicles 1:3; Luke 3:37.

well i expect people say Methuselah but also it could be Enoch because he walked off with God and didn't actually die. Oh and the bloke who went off in the chariot. Can't be God because you said man and Jesus was 100% God and 100% man but the man bit did die at 33 and rose again so that's a break ummm that's complicated innit. You could say Adam because Adam walked in the cool of the day with the Lord God which is a Christophony innit. Ummm so Adam believed on the Christ Jesus and was saved so in a way isn't dead.

Since you're asking about the eldest *man*, and not the eldest diety, I'd have to say Adam. The Bible says Adam was the first man, right?

Human or not?
As was stated, Methuselah lived longer than any human.
God has no beginning or end, (alpha and omega) so I guess He's considered to be pretty old as well.
The oldest created being is Jesus Christ. He was God's "firstborn of creation."

Well there are two mentioned in the bible that never died (it's said they walked with god there after, but they never really died) Elija (sp?) and I don't remember the other's name.
But the oldest person who lived and died was Mathusila (sp?) who was more than 900 when he died. He was the oldest man in recorded history.
