Your pastor is FAR right. So far right, he should topple over, fall on his head and knock some sense into it.

There is a genuine secular agenda that many liberal politicians are pursuing. They want us to resemble Europe more.

I was once having my passport renewed at the Embassy in Moscow. I was getting the notoriously bad customer service that Russian personnel provided. I demanded to see an American. The difference was so great that I complimented the American Staffer that came out and finished up my work personally. I commented on the fact that here I was Mr. Nobody US citizen in Russia, and I was being treated like a VIP from the very busy Embassy Staff.

The woman said, make no mistake about it, we are the only government in the world that respects our citizenry. No other country in the world truly serves its people. England included. They still have the old Ruler-governed attitude.

This is the exact attitude exhibited by liberal politicians. Listen to the way they talk down at people. Look at the way they treat others. It is true. They even lament how 'backwards' America is in comparison to the rest of the civilized world.

that form of conversing from the pulpit is so offensive, ignorant, and inflammatory on multiple ranges - its confusing to be attentive to the place to start - the suggestions staggers. and that i'm a Republican! Throwing around words like 'liberal' and 'freedom' with out explaining what you propose by the words -- like everybody already concurs on what constitutes the two one - it is only irresponsible. i think of what your pastor potential is that anybody who would not agree together with his definition of those issues offends him. He particularly could desire to stay with the Bible, shouldn't he? What are the Biblical meanings for 'liberal' and 'American freedom'? i think of i could look into some different church homes - not because of the fact your pastor is only too conservative - yet because of the fact he would not look preaching the gospel - Christ and him crucified. authentic 'freedom' - American or othewise - is to be attentive to the guy of Jesus Christ. No political group has a lock in this - Jesus develop into not a Republican - haha.

Liberals are no more Godless, atheist, immoral, communists as conservatives are heartless, evil plutocrats obsessed with making money at the expense of the poor. Let's avoid stereotyping. We're all Americans (at least those here who are American, I know some Yahoo users are from around the world), let's start acting like it.

I got an email this morning, that is very disturbing, but not surprizing to me.
I teach from the manuscripts, my specialty is prophecy. I expect to be arrested if a bill passes federal law. It is being decided this week, to begin with. It is called HR1529.
Your Pastor is a smart man. What this bill means is that when you give someone bible scripture that is written, a police officer can arrest you for a hate crime. Why? Because Gods Word preaches against being gay.
So when you give that to another person,
you have just "thought" a hate crime. Yep,
this bill gives the police the ability to arrest a person if the police believe that the person is "thinking" hatefully. The bill says
that if you mug and injure an elderly woman, you get 33% LESS JAIL TIME than if you give scripture to a gay person. Sounds silly, but its already happening on a State level. Here in Philadelphia, we had two grannys who gave out pamphlets outside their church. They were arrested and thrown into general prison population, and await
a possible 47 years in prison, each. For what? For committing a "hate crime".
This is real, friend. They are looking at the rest of their lives in jail, and its no laughing matter. As a teacher, I fully expect to be
arrested just after the bill passes on the federal level, if it passes. I pray not.
However, fellow Bible scholars have told me that they have emergency plans in affect for the care of their children in the event they face arrest. I, too, have a plan for my children. Many of them have already legally turned over custody of their children to other family members, because this bill is so dangerous, they cannot chance their children being taken to foster care homes and not knowing of their welfare. The bill HR1529 is in fact, the most dangerous bill ever in America; its bye bye to freedom of speech, and bye bye to freedom of religion. If you raise your children with Christian values and morals,
then you will be a child abuser, since you are obviously teaching hate crimes to your children. A pastor can be arrested for giving a sermon in the church.
This is real life; this is 2007. All of us Christians realize that we will be persecuted at some point before Christ returns, and I
understand that fully, and am prepared for whatever needs to happen, but at this point, if people become aware of this bill, and write their Senators, perhaps it can be stopped. I certainly hope so.
If you want to see what this bill actually says, prepare yourself, because it is astounding that it is even being considered, but you can see it by going to:

www.christiannewswire.com.
It is bill HR1529; check it out, and please
write your senators. If you do, I may be able to continue raising my son. Thats my
desire, of course. However, I refuse to be disloyal to Christ, and would prefer to rot in a jail cell than give up the Living Word of God. No question. Thank you.

Your Pastor is lying to you!

Religion is always been about control! The ones that want to take away freedom are the religious right!

They want to tell you what music to listen to!
What movies to watch!
What books to read!
What ideas to have!

And they want you to think that they are interested in you having freedom? Freedom to what do what they say, when they say, how they say & for as long as they say?

Doesn't sound like freedom to me!

I don't know what kind of church you go to, but Jesus taught not to "cast the first stone." No one is perfect, and not all liberals are atheist. I think your pastor is VERY wrong in preaching this at church, and people like him are turning out mindless zombies who believe that change is bad.

Not all Christians are necessarily conservative. I know of several Democrats in my church. In answer to your question, there are some liberals who might fit that description, but I do not believe that they are the majority. Most liberals sincerely believe that their way of thinking is the right way, and they are trying to help. It's not their fault if they don't know any better.

Extremist liberals and extremist conservatives are both pushing for less freedom, but from different points, and with different goals, neither should be trusted.

liberals aren't the ones forcing rigged electronic voting machines upon us, letting unaccountable private armies gun down US citizens in New Orleans, holding secret military tribunals, torturing people, spying on its citizens, and dismantling the US Constitution.

Liberals are the ones who try to point out genuine abolitions of American freedom, but get called "traitors" for their service.
