do u think taking a break is a good idea? my boyfriend is saying that he wants a break for a few weeks. i was thinking about that too. i live with a mom he doesn't. however he doesn't live alone he lives with his uncle. a while ago he was saying that he was having mixed feelings. he said if we get back together we get back together but i doubt that will happen. there are times when he thinks my mom is protective im 22 he's 28. there are some rules i have no control over.
does anyone else have any opinions?

Sounds like he doesn't want a break, he wants to break up and is trying to let you down easily. But it also sounds like you're not losing much. He's willing to date you, but can't respect the rules your mother has set forth? Not a good guy if he can't respect your mom. You can do better.

Okay first off, your mom is going to have rules, you live in her house, that is to be expected. Same thing wtih him, he's 28, he should be respecting his Uncle or whoever he lives with, rules. Second, if he can't accept your rules or your mom's rules, then you need a break and for good. He's not worthy of your time if he can't understand what you and your mom are about. If he really cares for you then take the break and he'll come back. Otherwise if you two take the break and he leaves, then move on, you don't need someone wasting your time and making you feel like you need to do things his way or the highway. in my opinion, family comes first. and if your family placed certain rules for you, i would abide by them, and find a man who is MAN ENOUGH to respect and abide by those rules too. true love can last, but you need to find the right guy...
and if he is talking about taking a break over certain things that you cant even control, then he is very immature and not worth the hassle anyways. you deserve better than that, and dont ever change your life or situation around for a guy.
guys come and go...but the one real man, will stick around for life.

Yeah you need to move out and get on your own your to old to be under the control of your mom, get a life get a job and get your own place, you will be better off and you will not have anyone telling you what to do when to come home what time to eat etc.

i think its a boad idea for one because taking a break its like saying well am tired of you i just wanna do other girl...so think about it...i think you should leave him find your self a reaposible guy!!!so you live with your mom???ok..well its really up to you and well 4 a guy his age i think he sould be thinking about settleling down by now i mean hes akmost 30 years old its up to you

taking a break is always a good idea.
it not like you don't like your partner it just that you can be overwhelming.
i suggest you let him know and he will understand if he want the best for you.

Normally, means he does not love u anymore, and is getting tired of u. If he loved you , he would want to spend every minute w/ u..now he wants u away..let him go..
