We follow the example of Jesus and his disciples who preached to people wherever they could be found, so we do call at businesses briefly. Since our magazines contain positive, short articles on many different subjects (family life, places of interest, animals), some businesses keep them in their waiting room. Jesus commanded his followers to preach the good news, and we enjoy sharing the wonderful news from the bible that God will soon act to eliminate suffering, death, and wickedness! (Rev. 21:3,4; Ps. 37:9-10)

we are not soliciting. soliciting means selling. we are not selling anything. the boy and girl scouts sell. if you are not interested just say no thank you. we will leave. if you don't want us to come back, tell the witnesses to put your name on the do not call list. www.watchtower.org. the books, tracts and watchtowers and awakes are free. our bible studies are also free. by the way, how can Jehovah Witnesses be bugging people if they are walking down the street? they can be just walking or shopping. we have families just like anyone else does. also we do not convert anyone. we do what Jesus Christ commanded us to do at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20

Well unless the business has a sign requesting no visits, and the witnesses are polite and unobstructive, there is nothing wrong with it. If it really bothers you, let someone else talk to them. Generally, when we go to businesses, we try to be even more polite than usual. Hope this helps.

Walking down the street and you think they are coming to your office?
Do you work for or own any kind of business anyone would want to do business with?
With your attitude of making presumptions, likely not. I hope you're not a stock market adviser.

I work in an office in a residential area (the office is actually a converted house). I am the first desk as one enters, so I have to deal with unexpected visitors all the time. Simply explain to them that this is a place of buisiness and if they have no business to attend to with your firm, they will need to leave. If you feel comfortable, tell them they may leave any materials with reception (you can always throw them away). They should be respectful and leave.

Jehovah's Witnesses do some businesses, but are you sure it is Jehovah's Witnesses?
If they have white shirts, black pants with back pack, they are most likely Mormon.
I have guys come in my office all the time in slacks and tie that are selling things cheap. Like radios, toys etc...
Jehovah's witnesses are not trying to convert. They are just sharing a message about God's Kingdom. If you not interested, just let them know.

How do you know they want to convert you? It seems a tad narcissistic. Just tell them you're busy. Be honest and respectful and you just can't go wrong. Ooooo, ask them if they'd like to talk to a salesman!

"Bugging"?
In what universe does "walking down the street" constitute "bugging"? This reminds a fairminded observer of the Shakesperian proverb "The lady doth protest too much."
A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "recruit" a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!
That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.
(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.
Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Well.. its easy... All you have to do is write up a clear sign... I would suggest you buy one of the MANY pre-made ones that clearly say NO SOLICITATION, and put it on your front door, or office door, or wherever you dont wish to be bothered.... and by law, they can not knock on your door to give you the "Message" of god if they see that, or you can charge them with trespassing.

Then you would not have liked Jesus.
He tried to convert people.
If the boss says the JW's can come in, they can come in.
The best reaction, interested or not interested, is humor.
Not ridicule ....humor.
