Hi, I'd like to replace a number of outside bulbs with CFLs, but I currently have sockets in these fixtures that sense when it's dark and then turn the light on. I suspect CFLs won't work in these because CFLs don't work with things like dimmer switches. Has anyone tried this? Is there an alternative set up? I want to the lights to go on automatically at night.

They will work fine with those sockets. They are either off or on, unlike a dimmer switch which delivers lower voltages.
