Okay so I had like 2-3 pimples on my back, 5-10 on my chest, and the usual on my face (not much). I broke my femur (not last friday but the one before) and I have only had the chance to take 2 showers since that time. It's very hard and I cannot get my leg wet. I thought my back and chest would get worse since I could not clean them as much but my back is cleared up and my chest is "clearing up". Is that not odd? Why would it be doing this? (I'm about to be on my period this is usually when everything breaks out) so far my face is a little but thats about it.

Actually dirt does not always cause acne. Things may be clearing up because the natural level of oils is balancing out. Maybe you are using too harsh of a cleanser that is stripping your skin of healthy oils which would then cause breakouts.

Probably it's because you were stripping away too much of your skin's natural oils (which do contain anti-bacterial substances by the way) and now that your skin is less dry you have better protection against spots. Also, it's possible that breaking your femur may be connected to this: any such wound or break gives your immune system a bit of a kick start and it starts producing more anti-bacterial and anti-viral compounds together with larger numbers of white blood cells to fight any possible infection. This may also be having the effect of improving your acne by making life more uncomfortable for any acne-causing bacteria.

An excellent remedy for pimples or acne-prone skin can be made by mixing 1 teaspoon ground cloves with 2 tablespoons fullers earth and ice water. When you wash your face, use sugar to scrub it, at least once a day, for two weeks to rid yourself of acne. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

Yes acne is not caused by dirt. A gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil followed by a BP cream would be an appropriate regimen. Also do not touch your face.
