I don't think that that's what abortion does because I don't believe a fetus sitting in a uterus has a soul until it's born.
Also, that's not why people have abortions.
And moreover, it is none of your, or anyone else's business as to why people have abortions. It is their uterus, not yours.

That does make sense, I have to say. If there really is a kind and loving god up there than it would make sense that he wouldn't allow the unfair and permanent death of a soul. He wouldn't even have to put the soul into another body, he could just bring it automatically up to heaven, so in a way the pregnant woman who aborts a fetus is essentially doing it a favor (of course, as an atheist I don't believe any of that, I'm just throwing it out there).

Not at all. It prevents that potential birth at that particular time, but if we posit that God creates a soul before birth, or that one reincarnates per a Higher Will, then that soul will find another body to be born in, either within the family or with another where it can learn its lessons in this incarnation.
Thank you very much for bringing up this point.
Peace.

I believe your soul would have never seen the light of earth. The Bible says that "God knew you before you were born". Therefore, I don't believe that he knew that you and had multiple options of bodies for you. I think he knew the complete person that you are before you were born. This is one of those tough questions. What if you were born and died in a car wreck at the age of 2? Do I believe your soul is damned? Surely not. But I think you would agree that God would probably not reinsert that soul into someone else after it had already been a living thing for 2 years? Does that make sense?

Your soul would have gone to heaven to be with God and either stayed there with Him... or maybe offered the chance to make another go of it. (However this is very controversial in many christian circles, though a non-salvational question and I think it should be allowed for speculation). If that happened to me, and He wanted to let me choose, I would choose to try again and be born. I would want a chance to be here and experience earth life just like others do. However, God generally hates abortion, just like he hates divorce. He created marriage and babies to be a good thing and we should try to do everything within our power to save that which is good.

I am pretty sure that man cant destroy or create a soul, might influance the package it is housed in, but thats it.. no different than if I kill someone after birth, I dont controle the soul, just the body

People don't think logically about this issue. Around 50% (one-half) of the fertilized eggs are tossed out by nature. If ""god's""" against abortion, why does he cause so many to happen? ; )

...I don't think this to be ture. But then again, this is coming out of the mouth of someone that has had an abortion, and doesn't beleive that there is a such thing as a soul. As far as i'm concerned, you die and become worm food, nothing else.
Have fun with that thought.

So, if you are hit by a truck and killed today, (God forbid) would God simply put your soul in another body now?
If not, what is the difference?
Peace!

You would not have existed. I wouldn't have cared if my mom aborted me, I wouldn't have known the difference.
Everyone has their own views and that's what is so great about this country is that I can have my version and you have yours.
