If America was founded on principles of Christianity, and we are "one nation, under God", how is it that the courts don't accept Satan as the reason for wrong-doing?

Separation of church and state? Remember that everyone involved in a trial must swear to "tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth...so help me God!"

Satan can't be called to testify on his or your behalf.
Other than that it's rather obvious that Satan doesn't exist.

Because this country was founded on the word of God, It teaches that Satan [the devil] can be stood up against and Fought.. Only the wicked want to follow what is evil and do the wrong thing that happen in this world. We have all sinned so no one is perfect but we are called by the Lord Jesus Christ to stand and call on his name when we don't know what to do or have done wrong. We also are told by God that we will reap what we sow good and bad.

That would only work for the mentally ill. If you commit a crime while YOU know it's a crime, your guilty regardless of who told you to do it. I'm also a firm believer in separation of church and state. If religion is to be a factor in our courts then which religion should be used? Christianity? Buddhism? Muslim? Or even a new religion recently made up? And how would you try an atheist?

"The devil made me do it" cannot be a legitimate defense in court cases for the fact that personal responsibility can never be dodged.
Even if the Devil did influence the actions, he cannot make us "DO" anything. We are beings created with Free Will, thus we make the final decision no matter what.
An interesting aside, it wasn't introduced in a court case, this saying, it was coined by a comedian in the early 80's.

purely to a precursor to an insanity protection. The devil has yet to be shown to exist via scientific skill. Any documents on the subject of this individual pre-date the Roman empire. No start or dying certificates have been placed.

Right, stony.
Either we have separation of church and state, or we're "One Nation Under God".
Yet ANOTHER example of Christians wanting to have their cake and eat it too.

America wasn't founded on the principles of Christianity. It was founded by atheists, agnostics and non-theists.

Because then no one would have to take responsibility for their actions. And how many possessed folks have you ever met? Can you imagine proving that in court? But you make a good point.....

Because only crazy people really believe that nonsense.
An insanity defense is the same thing.
