Yes, an impersonal god. An impersonal god would be the kind of god that those who hold the deistic view would take. They believe that God (some believe that a form of the Judeo-Christian God) created the universe, and all that is therein, but has never had any personal dealings since then. Kind of like a dead beat dad. Many of America's founding fathers were known as deists (Thomas Jefferson for one).

Understanding the meaning of religious symbolism across cultures would be a good first step. Check out symbolic language under Mysticism in Wikipedia as a start. God can be translated many ways; for example, as "the perfect goodness" which correlates with the "divine experience" or Kingdom of Heaven. Only YOU know what that abstract truth is to you - it is unique to each person - therefore it is personal relationship with your true nature or Self you seek. Only you can transcend the programmed ego and experience rebirth as your authentic Christ Self. Return to "being" and empowerment is the call of every religious tradition but you have to understand the psychological metaphors. Start with contemplating YOUR fear of death. What does your childish ego fear the most - in this reality. It is not easy to discern but is usually associated with intense shame. Shiva - mentioned above - is a wonderful symbol but it has to be internalized psychologically. Part of the Hindo trinity - as the distroyer (transformer) of this reality - Jesus the Christ holds the same position in Christianity with his "way" of transcending this experience of reality.

how can atheism be true?
Just think of the wonderful world God has created. Just pause to think of the human body that works with clock wise precision.
don't be fooled by the nonsense. pls try and experience God in your life. Only JESUS can help. Simply try for yourr sake and mine. To begin with say a small prayer. God's wonderful light will shine.
I have witnessed God in my life and the life of my family members. Please I implore you to try God, though do not test him.
Youirs in christ

Perhaps a God who is everything. Such as in pantheism. Or is sometimes wonder, Taoism.
Or one that just made it all and went off to do something more interesting.
Or I understand some religions, such as Ãsatrú, have several Gods but believers only identify particularly with one of two of them. (Lökasennã - you want to help me out here?)

Believing there is a God, but we are unable to commune with Him, as opposed to Christianity where there is a personal relationship between God and man.

An amoral, impersonal creator deity that doesn't seek worship and just watches things from afar.
To me, that sounds a lot like a form of deism.
Theism, nonetheless.
