Yes!!! Really bad! A tooth infection can cause a terrible, terrible smell and needs to be treated as soon as possible with anti biotics prescribed by your dentist before the infection spreads to other teeth.

Yeah and infected tooth can have dead roots that leads to discoloring of the tooth, which helps the bacteria grow, its not just the tooth its the bacteria in the tooth that makes the odor.

An occasional bout of bad breath, or halitosis, is not uncommon.
About 90 percent of the population has bad breath every once in a while.
About 25 percent of all adults are estimated to suffer from halitosis on a regular basis, and 40 percent suffer from chronic halitosis.
Brushing, flossing and mouth rinsing provides only temporary relief instead of eliminating the problem.
However, poor dental hygiene may often cause bad breath.
In general, the most effective way to manage bad breath of oral origin (halitosis emanating from the mouth is called fetor oris) is through proper oral hygiene and regular dental cleanings.

Yes it sure can. If you have an infected tooth get it taken care of before the infection travels to your blood stream and causes sepsis.

OMG yes! My husband has an infected tooth and it causes his mouth to smell rotten! You need to floss daily and wash your mouth out with half listerine and half water three times a day to keep bacteria down.

For the MEANTIME, you could try advil. But after Christmas I highly recommend scheduling an appointment to have those wisdom teeth removed. It will only get worse if you let them stay. Not only will it cause pain, but other problems as well. So if money is a problem, just try to sort out a good payment plan.
