Seeing as he was talking to himself and seeing as he was supposed to be God himself.

That's what happens when you decide after about the concept of a trinity and don't bother to figure out how all the pieces fit. They made that up.

Jesus, The Son. Was not talking to himself but the Father each is a part of the whole of God the same as you are body yet also are spirit.

The more accurate translation (from the Aramaic) is unrelated to the oft quoted translation you refer to which is indeed ludicrous. Rather than accusing God of forsaking him, the words attributed to him were, "For this I have come. This is my destiny."

Whether we achieve it or not, we are all called to a purpose of some sort. His was leaving behind "a way" - defined by the stories, parables and metaphorical meaning of the events of his life. They all have pertinent psychological meaning that leads one to empowerment. The one you refer to is the "required" death of the body level ego - all our learned beliefs about self before purpose can be remembered and fulfilled. He embodied the human fear of death as an exaggerated demonstration that even the ultimate physical anhihilation can be surmounted. Our little ego fears of "being nobody or nothing" can certainly be transcended.

Perhaps there is something you are missing.
"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians 2:5-11

Jesus was the Scapegoat - not you.

Yep, the concept of the Trinity is a tough one to understand. Especially when the three parts which create a whole are physically independent of one another.

Jesus was reciting a " psalm for David".

Book Of Psalms
Psalm 21
2 O God my God, look upon me: why hast thou forsaken me? Far from my salvation are the words of my sins. 3 O my God, I shall cry by day, and thou wilt not hear: and by night, and it shall not be reputed as folly in me. 4 But thou dwellest in the holy place, the praise of Israel. 5 In thee have our fathers hoped: they have hoped, and thou hast delivered them.

2 ........"The words of my sins"... That is, the sins of the world, which I have taken upon myself, cry out against me, and are the cause of all my sufferings.

Your completee and utter misunderstanding of the Most Holy and Blessed Trinity would get you a failing grade in any Dogmatic Theology 101 class I ever taught. Even the "Sunday School" version I teach to six-year-olds. Shame on you.

Here....study this and call me in the morning:

the whole trinity thing doesn't make any sense anyways.

god sent himself to have himself killed to save man from his wrath.....

seriously - there wasn't a better way?

He obviously said something funny, because the disiples were so busy laughing that they only bothered to record it decades later.
