I just finished my lunch break and i resent having to spend over £5 a day on lunch, as it adds up... (i'm to lazy to make a packed lunch)

So i went to the local Tesco and bought some "Finest" cheese scones and a cooked cumberland sausage which was still hot, total cost £2.22
I warmed up the scones and sliced the sausage, OH MY GOD it tastes wicked and i strongly recomend this...

Do you have any cheap lunch ideas that you can buy in a supermarket???

You would be so much better off if you took a few minutes after dinner to pack yourself a lunch, put it in the fridge...to just grab it for the next day...You will be so glad you took that few minutes from your life to make a good, filling, healthy lunch. Go shopping once a week...instead of wondering where you can go for a low cost lunch but not wanting to spend the fiver everyday.
Think about it...grab some turkey sliced meat at the deli, or sliced ham, saucege....like 5 slices of each-Make sub sandwiches for the week using the different meats on your bun...add some cheese, etc (fast simple and filling) put in a ziplock baggie for lunches or sml. container some fresh fruit...(grapes, strawberries) pack a banana perhaps, or yogurt...and a bottle of water, or whatever you fancy. Much healthier filling lunch and only takes a few minutes at night to make it. Like I suggested...after you have your dinner, make your lunch.

Goodluck*

WHAT is the difference between going to all that trouble at lunch, and packing a lunch for yourself beforehand???

As a matter of fact, if you had packed the same lunch for yourself at home, it would have cost you exactly the same amount of money. BUT you would have had all that extra time to enjoy eating it that you wasted on going to Tesco's on your lunch hour!

But as to answering your question...try going into ethnic bakeries. They often have prepared snacks/lunchs for sale that are very reasonable. One of my favorites is mutton samosas from the store on the corner. They sell them three for $1, and three of them are more than enough for my lunch.
