I am one of the kids that didn't get aborted and i am truly disturbed buy some of these people on here. does anybody truly care about the kids? everyone is condem the mothers for opening there legs but why don't they condemn the dr.s that won't tie women's tubes because they don't feel they're old enough? so now we can't have abortion or have permanent sterilization? What you people fail to realize is by saving this so called life you are destroying it. we (adoptee’s) make up almost 50% of the jail system, the mental hospital system, and are dealing with homelessness; You can tell me it's better to have a million of us a year destroying and killing other people because of our miserable lives when you could have done us the favor of killing us before we knew suffering? how many people think about the kids and not just the fact that their parents committed a so called sin?

No i didn't say i was for forced abortion i said Dr's won;t tie woman's tubes because of some stupid age restriction. If they are going to make it so that people can't abourt then they need to make it so that people can get their tubes tied. i am 29 with one and i know i don't want anymore. i am allergic to the bitrh control but they won't tie my tubes either. what's wrong with that picture.
and to the chick that knows all these happy adoptees good for you tell them to go get the 150, 000 that can't get adoptedd and then tell them they can have a million a year now.

and to the people with the SA answers. I'm here now of course now i have a strong survival instinct. but i think it would have been better on me in the long run to not have been here in the first place. To be black and raised by a white prejudice family almost in suclusion and dealing with the problems that i deal with daily like not being able to accept love. yeah it would have been nice to have been aborted but i'm here now. not in a rush for somebody to kill me. i have a kid that i wanted to take care of.

Well, they haven't really thought about that at all. They're too busy celebrating their victories too worry about the actual life of those children. I wonder if they would care to put as much energy into that as they do picketing abortion clinics.

Good for you, it's about time we had a new perspective on this.
I've had an abortion, and there is no doubt in my mind that the life of that "potential child" would have been difficult, to say the least. Even if I'd managed to carry it through to term (termination aside) and managed to find a "good family" to take the baby, it wouldn't have had genetics on its side. The "father" was a borderline schizophrenic and I have endogenous depression and AD/HD. What if that "good family" didn't understand mental illness, had no experience of it? With all the good intentions in the world they might not have picked it up, and that's where the psychiatric hospitals, prisons, drugs and life on the streets become a real possibility.
Anyway, that's all hypothetical. Thank you for being brave enough to stand up and give a concrete example.
By the way, I didn't get pregnant because I wasn't careful. Hasn't anyone else ever had a condom break?

Not again.
Look... in a perfect world, people wouldn't get raped, fathers wouldn't commit incest on their child daughters, babies would be taken care of and loved by a family no matter what, babies wouldn't go into the system only to sit there for years without even getting one foster family to take care of them, instead they'd be adopted before they're even out of the womb, there would be no retardation to impair the child in life, there would be no terrible accidents that makes it likely that the mother will die if they give birth, homeless pregnant mothers, mothers on drugs, women in abusive relationships, etc...
But the world isn't perfect is it? Not all children get adopted. And often, when they do, the families aren't good people. People get raped. Children suffer from incest (yes 8 year olds can get pregnant by their incestuous child rapist fathers. Giving birth would kill an 8 year old), etc.
Life is not all these oh so wonderful things that people think it is. And MOST PEOPLE DON'T CARE. Not even you vaunted Christians. If you Christians cared so much, every single Christian family would adopt one of those unwanted children that are already out there to take care of them.
But you're not doing that are you?
You spout off all these words that mean virtually nothing. If YOU think all these babies should be taken care of, then do something OTHER that protesting their abortion. YOU take care of them.
There are always mitigating circumstances that you Christians totally ignore because its convenient.
So, how about you stop all those other bad things from happening, and we'll talk about how "abortion is only a choice because you don't want it". Because right now "a choice" is a cop-out that you people are using to justify forcing children to give birth to children after they've been raped by their fathers.
Grow up. How can you live in this fantasy world of your own making?

i don't care about the sin it's the mothers choice and if she doesn't think she's ready abort the fetus won't feel anything because he can't think rational his not human what makes us human is the ability to rationally think without it we are no more then animals with human DNA
and yes these things do happen around the world you can ban abortion but then unwanted babies are still going to suffer in foster care or at the hands of their own parents so better leave it to the parents to decide if they are ready or they don't want the baby it's a lot better just to abort then put him in all the suffering

I was not aborted either...My bilological mother opted to give me up for adoption...rather than selfishly find excuses to end the pregnancy....I believe that she did the right thing.
Later tonight I will visit with a beautiful 11 year old girl, whose mother I convinced to avoid abortion 12 years ago. I can not imagine life without her...she is like one of my own children
I helped to support her and the mother for many years...though she has a boyfriend....
I also never believed that though I myself was adopted, could ever really love a child other than my own.....I happily found out that I was wrong and so is abortion

I think I agree with you here. I think women should be give the option to get tubes tied/sterilized if they want. I think it should be mandatory for those who have multiple children that continue to subsist off of the welfare system.
People will have sex regardless of the law. They will get abortions regardless of the law. People will judge for sin, but for some reason don't consider the quality of life of the child. Some of those who judge also don't lead a righteous enough life to be passing judgement on others anyway.

What are you arguing for again? At first it looks like you're pro-life with your "Hey, I was adopted and aborted" but then you say that it's better to kill kids like you because there's a chance that the baby born might not adjust well.
I hate to tell you this, but that's bull! There are several kids who aren't adopted who make up our criminal system. Killing kids isn't going to solve this! I"m sorry you're so miserable (" because of our miserable lives when you could have done us the favor of killing us before we knew suffering") but I believe life is better then death.
No matter how I get pregnant, even if it's by being raped, I'm not killing my child. Though, I will be sad if my kid ever becomes as ingrateful as you. You were adopted! That means of anyone in this world, you should know what it's like to feel wanted. Your adopted parents wanted you! They took you in and loved you! And you repay them back by saying your'e miserable and it's better off if people like you were killed.

Sin has nothing to do with it. Sin only reflects on Christians. What we're saying is, the woman had the choice to have sex or not. Now she's made her choice, let the child be born to make it's choice.
The percent of adopties in the jail system is probably overrun by the percent adopties not in jail. You can't blame being born on your actions. Breaking the law is your choice.
Every one has choices. I was pro-choice once and realize these facts through maturity. I made choices that put me in jail and decided to qwuit doing that. Now I live a blessed life and believe everyone has the right at a chance to live as good as me.

I find this argument disturbing. My reasons for doing so have nothing for the pro's or con's of abortion.
Because a group of people have a high rate of social failing, crime, poor mental health, and so on, we should value there lives less? You argument become grotesque when it is apply to other groups. Should low cast Indians be encouraged to abort, should the poor of any nation? Dose this mean that we should treat persons in the third world with less respect for their lives because of the low quality of life shared by so many? Should we do it by race? NONE of these are acceptable.
There are many reasonable arguments for legal abortions. This is not one.

Exactly, you are already safe from the threat of abortion so it is very easy for you to not have a problem with it. Since I am a man, if I were as narrow minded as you, I would not have any idea why it was necessary to let women vote. Instead I choose to try and see something from the perspective of the one who is helpless, and not always from my own safe, empowered position. I guess that's just me though.
