I am not proud of my weight.
Even though most people think that i am smaller than i really am.
Well, i need help with a healtier diet.
Both my parents work kinda late [9-11ish] so they usually will bring home fast food.
Well, im getting sick of that, & i wanna look nice for summer.
We do go grocery shopping, but, i cant cook worth anything.

Can anyone give me some beginner tips on cooking?
& Something that is fast to cook also.
Nothing with any type of seafood//fish or eggs[like, scrambled, fried. cos, i will NOT eat eggs.]

Thanks.

Lots of fruits and veggies and whole-grain carbs. No pre-packaged stuff, like hamburger helper. choose lean meats like chicken and fish. it's pretty much common sense.

Well first I'd say invest in a healthy cooking cookbook, or Cooking Light magazine (and that's on the web). Read all the labels on food for fat and sodium content. For cooking, don't deep fry anything. Use lots of veggies, rice, beans. And when you find a recipe, follow it to the letter the first time, measure everything. You can always do it differently next time, like more garlic or less of a certain spice. Oh, and use spices and herbs, you won't miss the flavor from fats. I read once a long time ago that when a recipe says 1/2 cup olive oil, cut it in half. You'll never miss those extra fat grams. And buy the leanest cuts of meat like boneless skinless chicken breasts or boneless pork loins.

Good luck hon! I've lost 40 pounds really quick, and have stayed with this diet since 1993 and never gained the weight back.

get some turkey and vegies....maybe even eggs to boil. Make a huge salad pput in a tupperware bowl and eat a salad with a few crakers every night. The vegies will be soooo good for you and with the turkey or chicken lunch meat diced up in it (oh and egg) you will get some protein too! Cant get much healthier then that!!

Get yourself some veggies and steam them and serve them with rice, make some corn on the cob or make tacos.
You are never wrong with some pasta and tomatosauce or just a sandwich with veggies...
I don't really have recipes but I always look at recipes.com or http://allrecipes.com/
