No one. They are fine target or self-defense weapons, but not sufficient for hunting most game. They are too big for squirrels, rabbits, etc. and too small for deer or larger game.
The .357 magnum is about the smaller caliber for most game. A .22 is fine for smaller game like squirrels or rabbits.

not one of the cartridges you listed are searching rounds, era. no longer even the .357 Sig. those are all own protection rounds. in case you want to handgun hunt get a minimum of a .40-one Magnum. A .40 4 Magnum may well be even better particularly in case you desire to seek hogs. human beings have taken deer with the .357 Magnum yet those are recommendations-blowing marksmen who hunt each and every of the time. after all the .357 Magnum (revolver, ideally with a protracted barrel) is the minimum handgun searching cartridge for vast activity. All those rounds you listed will take smaller activity like rabbit, javalina and Bobcat yet make useful they're criminal interior the State you hunt. The .40 5 long Colt, to no longer be perplexed with the .40 5 acp, IS an adequate searching around. Now Glock makes a .10mm 'hunter' and there's a 6" barrel attainable from Glock for roughly $one hundred thirty five. With a .10mm and searching ammo like from Double faucet you will do ok however the .9mm, .40 S&W & .40 5 acp pass too sluggish & generate too little power to be stable searching rounds. in case you load those rounds too warm you will improve up the placed on and tear on your gun because of the fact they weren't made for that. good good fortune. Its actually not legal to hunt with a 9mm in wisconsin. Whiney liberals feel it is too whimpy and causes the deer to suffer, all I know is it ain't whimpy and I never want to be on the business end of one.
But I do carry a .357 for the finishing as you say. It makes a much smaller hole and ruins less meat than another 12 gauge slug.

Depends on what your hunting. I have never met any who hunts large game with one, Back when we carried 9mm for duty (now carry 40 s&w) when we went out on a car deer accident we would use the shotgun because the service pistols just went up to the job (accuracy wise) to make a head shot on the deer most of the time. I witnessed a duputy shoot 6 times before the deer died once, and thats still a on going joke between us and his gun handling skills.

Illinois has a handgun specific deer hunt. The smallest caliber you can use is a .357 magnum .Technically a 9mm is smaller than that. I have never hunted deer with a handgun but only because by then it is too dmn cold.

Hopefully, no one. The .9mm (like the .45 acp) is NOT a hunting round. Minimum is the .357 Magnum revolver round or the .10mm semi-auto round. Someone on this format says he uses a .357 Sig successfully with specialized ammo. With specialized ammo I suppose you can do just about anything.

It is legal where I live to hunt with a hand gun. I know some folks that do use them for hunting.
I have been dreaming about a couple, but after paying for leases, and licenses, I just don't seem to have any money left for hand guns.
